Sounds like they made a new order for you, so you won't be price protected. They need to change the priority code on the old order, you shouldn't have to sign anything.
Well, of course they will. Ford isn't so sophisticated to come up with something that Tesla has, "locked in pricing", no fuss. Dealer will likely claim no knowledge, blah blah blah. It's déjà vu all over again. ?‍♂

So my 2022 ordered Select with C/T will be adjusted by Ford to include not only the price increase from 2022 to 2023, but ALSO the $2875 option I selected ?

I just received a text message from 41040, first ever text message I receive from Ford, my dealer already reached out regarding my Premium EAWD order to tell me it will be 2023, they sent me the new order summary to sign, it's showing the new MSRP of $68370 instead of the old $58575, I guess according to this message, I am officially price protected.

Eventually you will buy that car at the 22 price. Just don't be shocked when the dealer claims no knowledge of that text you got from Ford. Tell them to call their Ford Rep; that person will help them understand the process.

So you're getting a '23 at your '22 pricing then?

Sounds like a win, except for the things they've taken away in the '23..?
I have Premium EAWD, so hopefully nothing changed, maybe they removed the signature led headlights only.

TLDR: you really want your MY2023 Mach-E delivered before Jan 1, 2023.
not really. the mineral and battery requirement doesn't kick in 1/1/2023. it starts when treasury secretary issues regulation on it (but before 1/1/2024).
there would be a huge impact on tax credit as few manufacturers meet the requirement, I doubt the secretary would issue it early.

Is it just me or is this reading as that you can order any trim and get '22 prices.
No, if you had an existing 22 order that didn't get fulfilled, you will get your 23 at 22 prices assuming the incentive from Ford to offset the price increase will be equal to the full price increase.

“Price Protection” and “Help offset the price increase” have different dollar values.
Hopefully that's not the case

Sounds like they made a new order for you, so you won't be price protected. They need to change the priority code on the old order, you shouldn't have to sign anything.
So my current 22 order is in 99 status, once I sign the new order summary, reflecting the new price and 2023, it will go back to 19 status, my dealer told me I will get protection if I am eligible, I got my GT and Bronco from them all msrp with xplan on the GT, few of my friends got their orders from them as well, I have no reason to suspect any foul play.

Eventually you will buy that car at the 22 price. Just don't be shocked when the dealer claims no knowledge of that text you got from Ford. Tell them to call their Ford Rep; that person will help them understand the process.
they know I am knowledgable, won't argue with me lol.

Yes, really. As I said earlier, this is insanely complex.

Ming, you're totally right on the mineral / battery requirements, which don't go into effect until 2024.

HOWEVER, there are two additional requirements that come into effect starting Jan 1 2023:

-- Your car needs to have a purchase price under $55k for cars, and $80k for SUVs. Unclear from what I've read what the IRS will consider the Mach-E to be. I think the IRS needs to issue some administrative regulations to answer these questions.

-- You need to make under certain income limits. $150k cap on income if single; $300k if joint-filing.

If you take delivery of your car before Jan 1, 2023, the above two restrictions do not apply to you, and you get the $7500 fed tax credit for the MME. Remember, if your EV is not made in North America, you do not have the ability to get the EV credit anymore.

Ming, you are referring to additional restrictions on the composition and manufacture of the batteries -- those restrictions come into effect in 2024, and it's why lots of OEMs like Ford are scrambling to build battery plants in the US.

I read this to say "they are going to help offset the price increase." That doesn't sound like total price protection to me. I agree that you should verify what is offered in writing.

The date of my order for a premium eAWD was Feb 7 22. I received a production week of 10/10 and vin but tracking doesn’t show anything but processing order. Did you get a production date before this latest gut punch?

Got the same message for a Premium AWD Ext Range ordered on Feb 10,2022. I am very unhappy that there will be any price increase over the price I ordered at. My dealer showed Feb 6, 2022 as the first order that rolled to a 2023 mode.
I have a Feb 1 order that’s getting rolled to 2023.

I didn't get any email from Ford, I saw the production date on my account.
