Mostly vent thread but recommendations would be appreciated as well!
So I recently had purchased a new 22 Mustang Mach E. I purchased it late in the evening so the salesman had told me the second key FOB was locked in the service department and he would mail it to us. Two weeks go by without receiving the second key fob and after having to pull several teeth I find out the salesman had quit and the Customer Relations Manager believes only one key came with the car since PAAK is technically a key. I highly doubted this and find it much more likely they had misplaced the key, but that's the story they were going with. Also PAAK has been a bit glitchy for me and I don't want to have an unnecessary charge/devalue my car with a missing fob when I decided to trade it in.
Instead of just doing the right thing and just reprogramming a new key free of charge I was quoted what the cost would be for another key (~$500). I called Ford Customer Service to validate that these cars only come with only one key fob and they said the 22 models should come with two, but was also redirected to the new Customer Satisfaction Program for the 21 models that they can get a 2nd key free of charge. I brought up this program to the dealership and they said because it was for 21 models and mine was 22 they wouldn't honor getting the key free of charge (even though I should have gotten two to begin with).
Called Ford Customer Service and filed a complaint, but they essentially told me I am up to the mercy of the dealership on this one despite them dropping the ball here LOL. Instead of continuing to go back forth I'd like to just purchase a key fob from (hopefully less than $100) and have it programmed to my car using another dealership and my Ford Pass Points. Any links to where I could get a fairly inexpensive key fob?
