Ford today issued a stop sale for F-350s and a massive recall on those due to transmission problems. I'm old enough to remember when Ford advertised "Quality is Job 1". We are a long way from that. Mark my words, when these parts are failing on the F-150 lightnings, Ford itself is in trouble.

I suspect that all GTs have contactors in the process of failing and that Ford knew that. My opinion is that this was known and needed to be disclosed in their financial reporting. There is a reason that Ford has the highest warranty costs of the major manufacturers. The wholesale market has already factored in the failures into lower GT prices.
Maybe you are correct, but maybe not. Regardless, I still think my car is awesome. I love looking at it, and, more importantly, driving it.

Do I expect my HVBJB to fail? Actually, yes. But I am ready for that. And it doesn't change how much I enjoy my car. I am kind of like Todd in that these kind of things don't bother me much.

If Ford handles the repair badly, I will be pissed. But my dealer has been great so far, and I am not worried about the eventual repair process. Not at all.

Bring it!

Glad your experience has been positive. I sure wish that were true for everybody.

I experienced my HVBJB failure on Friday, September 2nd, and took it immediately to the dealer. Engaged @Ford Motor Company social team immediately. Got a BEV support agent assigned. Didn't get a call until yesterday, 6 days later.

Still no ETA on replacement parts. No update available from the dealer.

I have a rental as a temporary solution, but the support agent assured me Ford would be covering the entire rental as long as this service takes to complete.

The rental isn't bad, a Volvo xc40 recharge, but I miss my car, badly. I want it back, fixed, and I want the experience I was sold on as one of the earliest MME buyers.
Same exact thing happened to me but I’m stuck with a horrible high mileage Rav 4. Still no eta and really missing my car. It’s been exactly 7 days ?

I suspect Ford agrees with you regarding that last sentence.

I had the same thought about my dealer being great until they told me 4weeks into my HVBJB repair that they didn’t have an EV certified tech and screwed up my repair. Now my car is stuck in limbo until the new dealer can get some wiring harness that was damaged during the first repair attempt. At least they have a few Ford engineers down working on my car now and Berglund Ford lost EV certification so lost the huge markup cash cows until they fix the situation.

I was prepared for 2-3 weeks even 4 to get my car repaired… now I’m losing faith. They really need to quickly get more techs trained so this doesn’t happen to more people when there’s a much higher EV adoption rate in the next few years.

Be careful who you take your car to! Even the good ones can be a complete disaster. The sad thing is I specifically asked Berglund when I got the recall applied if they had the tools and capability to fix the HVBJB, they said of course, no problem! ?

Sorry to hear that. When you finally get it back, the pain will be in the rear view mirror and soon forgotten. I hope.

Whaaat!? :D A dealer actually lost EV certification because they didn't know what they were doing! Hurray! ? ??That's the first I've heard of that actually happening! That's how the system should work people! If they can't fix them they shouldn't be selling them!

Other than that your situation totally sucks. :(

I’m getting more and more concerned with overall reliability even after I get mine back. I depend on my car for my daily commute and the sad thing is I’m starting to think I should have just gone with a boring Toyota or Lexus and not deal with the headaches.

I don’t expect that there will never be any other issues, I just hope this is the only one that takes the car out for so long.

I'm confused, I thought there was a warehouse full of HVBJBs ready to be sent out for this issue? I believe @DevSecOps said this was the case. The warehouse is already empty???
Failures happening faster than Ford thought In certain regions that would cause this issue, like mountains.

I am moving from the south to California in a few weeks, and this has me worried that it'll happen during my drive!

I am at 6481 feet of elevation. Two blocks from me the Rocky Mountains go straight up. there really isn't any flat land within a few miles of where we live. I-70 has some significant elevation changes, but that usually causes trucks to cook their brakes and Mach-E Vlog to experience an error early on.

Perhaps someone should let Ford know that in the Mountain time zone, they need to ship more of these. It really should not be this difficult.

As a near future owner of a GT, this thread is very disappointing and disheartening. Ford do better! Fix the mess you created and stop wasting owners time. This is my first Ford and more than likely my last, if this is how I’m going to be treated as a customer. What a giant chunk of you on this thread miss is that the time owners have to waste chasing down the simplest answers cost money. You’ll never get reimbursed for that time and Ford could care less it seems.

Please don't let the problems posted by others influence your opinion of your future car. I freaking love my GT. It is the best car I have ever owned. I am excited every time I think about driving it. I know, it sounds silly. But it is such a great car.
