Anyone else getting this type of response that wait could be months for a battery replacement? And on top of that, Manchester NH Autofair dealer says they have zero loaners and no rentals available (my area is about $100 day for basic rental). Battery issue came after a couple moderate accelerations at highway speed, first time after the last software update. (High voltage battery warning, and Powertrain malfunction warning lights came on)
Any recommendations on this situation? I loved my Mach E and Ford up until today.

Wait, it was the whole high voltage battery and not just the HVBJB? Wow. That‘s awful

I’m not sure how many entire battery replacements not due to damage have been posted to the forum ? Maybe zero that I’ve seen?

Like said above, it sure sounds more like HVBJB than an entire HVB replacement. Hopefully the BEV team at corporate can get involved to help diagnose.

I'm sure it's not actually the battery, and just the junction box.

I was told entire HVB by dealer.
The symptoms and that it happened shortly after the updated suggests that it would be the junction box and your dealer has improperly diagnosed it....but ultimately I'm sure Ford will correct them from ordering the wrong thing (hopefully)

Yup, call Ford and ask for the BEV team to open a case. From your description I'm fairly sure it's a failed HVBJB not the whole battery.

Update: I towed the car to another dealer that was willing to put me in a loaner, and they did their own diagnosis. The issue now is stated as the HVBJB which can be replaced in 1 week. Thanks to Hampton Ford NH, Haley - Treating customers well.

Given the failures of the HVBJB and the software fix that supposedly was going to prevent these issues (I had the OTA updates before my issue occured), is a replacement HVBJB redesigned to eliminate the problem from happening again?

The software fix could never prevent the problem unless it hobbled the power delivery from the battery. Todd (@DevSecOps) has put together an amazing library of information regarding this. It will be a critical part of the mental health and self-care of dealing with this Ford design failure.

As others have said, open a case with Ford. Expect to have to be your own advocate throughout the process. I wish you well. Mine just returned today after 3 full weeks.
