forums tend to be places more to vent than to praise. (I am also guilty of this) same as weeding through the bad reviewes on some product in order to see the ones that like it. we also tend to place more drama on a negative situation just because we can. I have lots of relatively small niggles about my ME, but it has been overwhelmingly a more positive experience. (so far)

I had a whole list of issues that have failed or not worked as expected.
The forum has helped me find the solutions.

And the worst part of this experience is all but one of the problems was me.

I love the challenge of the new technology. Our MachE replaced a 15 year old Prius. Lets just say there has been significant advances in technology on cars. The forum has helped with the learning experience.

Love the car.

PAAK - now what does that mean. We'll mine was working and then it didn't. I think it was an update on the car or on the phone. Resolve was to uninstall and reinstall the app (advice on the forum).

Conclusion:
Forum Good
Most members Good
a few are way to negative - easy to avoid. Thankfully their not relatives.

My perspective:

1) $70k is a ton of money to most people. It's probably even a lot of money to most people buying the MME. While new cars (if including luxury and big trucks) probably don't cost on average much less than that, a lot of people get by with buying used cars for half the cost. That doesn't exist with MMEs. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the first big car purchase for many buyers. It is for me. I prefer buying value used cars, even though I can easily afford something like the MME. But I want to go EV and don't really have good options other than new cars.

2) Waiting for 11 months drives up expectations. It's just human nature.

3) Imagine a forum for everybody's first automobile after switching from horse & buggy. There would be similar FUD. There's apprehension and anxiety about range, getting stranded, dealing with the unknown, etc. This is many people's first EV. They aren't focused on enjoying the car; they are focused on understanding how it will work for them. So on this point, yes, I think if more people shared their postives it would feel less like such a scary downward spiral. But I do think over time, this would naturally improve as people are more accustomed to EVs and comfortable with the charging infrastructure.

Here is my response. In short, something is "wrong" with Forum. Sorry.
For sure the root of the problem it's the first-ever ford EV and there are a lot of issues. Many MME owners come here with problems to find a solution and the forum doing great for that purpose. When I picked up my first 2021 Premium I was very happy, even though my experience with a dealership at the time of purchase was terrible. (Thank you Livermore Ford lesson learned, double-check paperworks before putting your signature even if a salesperson becomes your best friend in your life). First what I did when I brought my new car home: google search for an MME owner's community. But unfortunately, almost immediately problems started with the car and my first thread was about that. For many months I was in the Lemon Law process and the Forum was very helpful during that time. Forum helped me to find a dealership which agreed to participate in the buyback process. I am very thankful to the people who created this Forum and to the members who shared their experiences and suggestions. All my respect to you.
What next? The future of the forum is to become a complaint library?
I love my GT. I like to read about DIY projects or about wrapups, I like discussions about current and future @AOSK products, I like to see pictures with aftermarket wheels or other mods, I like write-ups about KW V3 coilovers installation and other stuff like this, I like meetups and real-life events. But all of this is drowning in waves of complaint threads. It is very frustrating to open the Forum and see only posts about troubles and issues. Many years ago in my country, I was a member of BMWForum and I had a wonderful experience. We knew that BMW is expensive to own, had issues and etc, but if someone will come and told us that BMW is the trash we will beat him to the "death" (it's a joke ).
Dear members create posts and share your positive experience, show your cars with or without mods, attach pictures with new wheels, new wraps, and stripes, lets schedule meetups, and create real-life events. Ford First-ever EV car! Imagine this. My thoughts I'm so lucky that I live in this great time. Like my father when the ICE Mustang was presented. Ford brought to life this beautiful car and we have all power to make this car a LEGEND ☝.
Love the forum so helpful

OP, can you name the dealer that was so helpful? We should acknowledge the good ones as well as the bad ones.
It’s not a secret, I mentioned earlier in my posts. It is Serramonte Ford, I’m very grateful for their participation in the process.

I can only speak for myself. If you look at the 48 topics that I've created you'll notice that they are all investigative or informative in nature. When there's a problem I always encourage people to help find a solution.

There's a lot of hyperbole and click baiting going on and I think that's because people just want affirmation. There's plenty of members on any forum that will pick a side and a lot of people title things to elicit a strong response. Isn't the title of your topic here technically the exact same thing you're complaining about?

On the flip side, there's also a bunch of Ford apologists here who will defend everything Ford does, right or wrong. You mention that if someone said something bad on other forums you would attack them. That's just as bad, if not worse than what you describe here. With an attitude like that change doesn't happen and the community becomes siloed. Just look at the comment section of Teslarati, it's disgusting and a perfect example of how they've silenced opposing opinions.

No one and no car is perfect. We should embrace the problems and help each other find solutions. We shouldn't attack people or defend Ford to no end. It's just a car and the community of people, and friends we've made hold much higher value.
My words sounds like this? On no, I’m sorry. I didn’t call to mute negative posts, by “beating opponents”. My bad, the relationship between BMW and MB drivers not the best example of how solid can be the car enthusiast community. I blame my self that I was in search of MME community to share my happiness but instead first my thread was about car issues. For many months of battling in Lemon law process I absolutely forgot about how happy I was at the time I picked up my pony. I’m not the ford apologists, I pretty often criticized ford in my posts. My GT usually is parked in garage and I use the KIA for my daily stuff, because I hate the MME ride quality. Most of the time I prefer to read the forum and help members with my suggestions where I can. But at one moment I noticed something isn’t right (see attached screenshot). I put my self in place where someone want to share their positive moods, they finds our forum and what they see? Even more, it’s hard to imagine how many people decided not to buy MME after visiting our forum. The positive thread’s should have place here as well. Let’s bring to the forum more positivity about our pony’s.

I would stop worrying so much about “positivity and negativity.”

It’s not our job to market this vehicle.

What do I want from this forum more than positivity and negativity?

HONESTY!

And I think that’s what we get here.

And honestly? If we scared a few people from buying the car, that’s ok. It’s sold out with a roughly 9 month waiting list.

I would hate for us to pretend everything is fine, then people spend 18 months waiting for a car they expect to be perfect……. And are blindsided.

What is the KINDEST thing we can do here? Be honest about the issues, bugs and flaws……. And help others figure out how best to resolve them.

That’s what a good forum does.

If you come here for confirmation bias (a bunch of dishonest pats on the back for a purchase you already made), a car forum isn’t really where you’re going to get that.

The biggest problem is that when problems do occur there is no support to fix them by ford to these dealerships.

I haven’t had a working Mach e most of the summer and have had it a total of ten days since July .

4 consecutive car payments for a vehicle I can’t drive

As mentioned before you will hear about the negative stuff before the positive.

If I judged my purchases based on what the "internet" says then in the last 12 months I've purchased the WORST product ever:

Kioti CK2610 (will break in half)
2x Suzuki DF150 (cant run in salt water and makes oil)
Mach-e (will leave me stranded)
Class A RV (will fall apart if you look at it wrong & built by crack heads)
Toyota FJ -from the east coast (frame is all rusted out)

It seems the more expensive the thing, the more passionate the complaint becomes. I've read some page turners in the RV group!

In the Kioti group I realized most members were more concerned about waxing a tractor than using one. The Suzuki group was full of Karen's and the RV group was full of mechanically inept owners.

The members in this group seem to be top notch, for the most part :)

Yeah, whatever breed of dog she is she sheds like crazy. She absolutely loves people and is very affectionate, but the hair drives my wife nuts. When we met her at the shelter she jumped all over me and was so excited to have attention. When i stood up I looked like I was wearing a bear suit

I would just like to relate a positive experience. We recently completed a 275-mile round trip day trip with my 2021 Mach-e premium RWD EX. I was somewhat concerned because there were no fast chargers on my route except for one about 20 miles from home on the return leg of the trip. My first pleasant surprise was that my overnight charge before leaving gave me a guess-o-meter range of 320 miles at 100% charge. This was the first time I had ever charged to 100%. The roads we traveled were about half 55mph and half 70 mph expressways with only minimal elevation changes. Happily and amazingly, the GOM was right on with 49 miles left when we returned home with no charging stops.. I hope I am not hi-jacking this thread with a positive story.
