The only way to make it stay on is if you turn off E-Heat, however, e-heat auto enables itself when the car needs it to warm up the cabin or whatever.
E-heat is always on unless you turn it off. And usually is back on at the next key cycle. Unless I'm missing something here that's how it's been working for me for the past year. This includes the middle of summer. Even if it isn't actually producing any heat the button is enabled by default when the car starts.
Kind of seems that way, huh? Stupidest “feature” on the MME imo. You can override it by using Max AC but anytime you use the auto temp function it decides whether to recirculate or allow fresh air in. Infuriating.
