I put a lock on a MME, a dealer allocation, on September 3. It was due on September 14. That was delayed until the end of September by the dealer. The car was in transit but stuck in Kansas.
Then officially it was delayed until October 17. On October 12th I contacted my dealer to see if all was good and we’d actually would see the car delivered. I got a solid yes…we are expecting delivery.

October 17 arrived…no delivery. October 18th? Nope. Waited all day to learn that the car is still in Kansas waiting to be loaded on a train. Wtf?

Why isn’t Ford swarming this fiasco known as the US freight train system. It’s absolute garbage. I’m done with the excuses…the supply chain excuses. Get your F’n shit together!
To the Ford CEO… get every available Ford employee in place in Kansas and personaly drive these cars to your dealerships . The car is literally 7 hours from me(Colorado Springs) for two friggin months. I could have walked to this stupid freight depot by now. Ford leadership is incompetent if they are actually tolerating this bullshit. Get some trucks lined up..start off loading the cars from the friggin train depot. You know what will happen? Trains will start to move. Enough of the BS. @Jim Farley, CEO of Ford…FIX THE PROBLEM.

I think what put me over was the reply from my dealer today….”We don’t know when it will arrive” <sigh>

Ordered mine from Motorcity (Phil Long). I've been pushed back another week. Premium AWD has been sitting in the graveyard since 8/25.

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone in this battle. lol

Last time I spoke with the Sales manager there, she mentioned that they had a lot of their inventory being held up at that graveyard. Probably most not as important as our Mach-E's though.

Spoke to my dealers shipping manager, basically they said theres no way they know when it will leave Kansas. @Ford-motor-company just seems content with not addressing this issue...

you would think they would want to deliver all these cars in Q4.

I could not agree with you more. I ordered my Mach - E OVER ONE YEAR AGO!! It was manufactured in August and has been sitting in NJ for some unexplained reason for two months -- four hours away from me!! They could have pushed the car quicker!! Now they have no idea where the car is or whether or not it has been "lost!" LOST!!!
How to you freek'n lose a car???

Also in CO. My original delivery window was two weeks ago. I ordered 12/1 of last year. They dont seem to be able to give me a new window or any sense of when it may be coming, or not...I would agree that this situation is a real s--- show. I wish there was an option for me to just show up in KC and drive it home!!!

A member here, who is a pilot, flew over the Kansas City yard and took pictures of LOTS AND LOTS of MME’s parked and waiting.
Today, Ford Chat told me that they are having trouble finding shipping companies to transport the cars. Rail is be contract. Car transports are not, generally. I think a lot of our cars are delayed for this reason.
Worse off, mine is built, but not even being put on a rail for Kansas City yet. This seems to be because they don’t have a ride for it out of Kansas City yet.

Have you been on this planet for the last two years? I guess your “lock” was broken.

I actually have been on this planet for the last 53 years! It gives me a great vantage point to see how badly this process is being handled. My wife and I also run a business…supply chain issues are a real thing. How we handle those obstacles is what is the issue. Ford has dropped the ball on this. Saying it’s the train companies fault was ok 12months ago…even 6months ago. Here’s a tip…stop using the frigging trains! Employ Truck drivers to take the cars from your factory in Mexico and deliver them regionally. It would take longer than a train ride and cost morebut I bet 90% of the waiting customers would ay an expedited fee to get the delivery done. I would!

As far as the “lock”….I’m not sure what you mean. It’s still ours…just late…really late.

Actually, I’m honestly perplexed at what the point of your post was. Care to elaborate?

People do not want to work. You being a business owner should know that. That’s the issue. No bodies to put in the trucks to drive the freight.

Trains are the most cost effective way to transport large amounts of goods, including cars. It is also a lot safer. How much more are you willing to spend to get your car? A few hundred? A few thousand?

A lot of qualified truck drivers left the profession 2 years because of the pandemic. They either retired, or found other types of work. Ford can't force people to become truck drivers to deliver your car.
