Check out this article published in U.S. News on the 14 least reliable new cars in the USA. The MME tops the list!!

However, the article also points out that "you’ll be hard-pressed to find any other glaring faults with this sporty electric crossover".

I think my 30k mile review had a low score and generally poor remarks. I created a post about it somewhere on here.

Then I did a 50k mile review and changed my tone a bit. Car scored pretty well and very reliable as far as basic transportation needs are concerned. It has never failed to get me where I needed to be and has always functioned well enough. The poor score items are primarily related to glitchy software and horrible OTA experiences but even then....the car still worked as transportation.

It might be time to start reviewing vehicles in two parts. Transportation and Tech. In the case of the Mach-E, the Transportation aspect can be excellent while the Tech not so much.

Its a shame that neither the article nor the linked articles explain why it only received a 60 out of 100.

Maybe the HVBJB issue? Hopefully they will be ok moving forward after 6/22, but still have a lot to fix, and basically it has to fail before they will fix. Kinda like a roulette game every time you drive.

Almost every car I've had, has had some sort of recall. I had a Subaru Crosstrek plug in hybrid, I had to jump start that thing like 5 times and had the battery replaced all under 2k miles. It would short itself out all the time. I hated it. I surprised Toyota and Subrau electrics aren't on there considering the freaking wheels can fall off!

Click bait.
I have to say that this is the first car I have ever owned that has had to go back for recalls.
Really? Literally, every car I've ever owned has had recalls. Every single one. And just because you don't know about a recall doesn't mean they don't exist. My 17-year-old Tacoma still gets recalls, Toyota just doesn't do a particularly good job of informing me about them.

Are we all feigning disbelief about why it's considered the least reliable? Yes, the article should have been more obvious about why, but the MME had a major recall that forced the car off the market for a period of time. And the "fix" that allowed them to sell it again isn't ... it just warns you when it's going to happen. This doesn't even count software update issues, a 12V battery prone to discharging, etc.

We all know the issues this car has at this point. I'm hopeful my 2022 Job 2 will be less problematic when it shows up, but I can be honest that the first year and a half of this car has been rough.

By that metric, the bz4x (wheels falling off) and the Rivian R1T (control arm fastener) would also be the "least reliable". 12v battery issues have existed on every single plug-in vehicle of any sort, and software update issues don't make the MME unreliable/undriveable (at least to my knowledge).

Not at all. This is the best car I've ever owned and I have had some very nice ones. If I step away from PAAK and use the fob, things work fine every single time. Many of the other issues I've had are directly related to the phones we use. We like to blame things on the car, but honestly, a great deal of the issues are directly related to Apple (in my case).

Not quite right. The recall is designed to both warn you, "Service Vehicle Soon", and to allow the car to continue to operate so that it can get to a dealer. The instances where it does not do the latter are rather rare though obviously not unheard of. Is that an ideal solution? Nope, not at all, but it's better than no solution or a stop-driving order like Toyota just had. A problem the world's largest carmaker just "resolved" after many months by installing a washer and holding their breath.

We gotta start grading car infotainment systems on a curve or have them take less of a percentage of an overall score. Most issues have been fixed by OTA, do they update scores then? Useless review.
