I've never gotten an extended warranty, but am reading through the Granger thread. The 8 year/100,000 from them (Ford) is around $1350 - so my question is besides the extra 2 years mentioned by @flossboss on the Zurich warranty, is there something that the higher priced options are covering that Ford is not? Better customer service experience?
To be honest I am not sure. Other people might have more info, but I am starting to believe that at the dealer they just take advantage of you. I am going to try to make sure about what each covers but I think I am going to cancel mine and get one of the online ones (floodlight, granger ...)

The plans are the same. Apples to apples. Provided by Ford. Just make sure you compare the same terms. Plan level, length, deductible…. Those are the main components. There are some add ons. Keys. Rental car. First day rental. Tires. Dents. Windshields. Interior / exterior lights. Dealers are “usually” 3 times higher than the wholesalers, Flood & Granger

edit: your warranty plan shows up in the ford service application (oasis) used at all dealerships for repair and will be a widget in your FordPass app. I call my local dealer after purchasing to verify they can see the warranty in Oasis. I’m no expert, just owned lots of fords. Currently 6 parked at my house. Plus a ford tractor and implements.

I don't know the details of Ford ESP. That seems like an unbelievable price. Our dealership moved away from Ford to Zurich because they say it is more comprehensive and easier to file claims. Deductibles are $100 and they provide rental car coverage and roadside assistance also. Things don't have to be completely "broken" to be covered either. I know the owners so I trust them, but maybe there's a higher profit margin in there also. We have it on another car from a different dealer we also trust but luckily haven't had to use it yet.

How much was it for the PPF? I see you only got Ceramic Coating.

Who is Zurich?
This is the Zurich coverage for interior/exterior. They did a ceramic coating on the exterior and an interior protection. I doubt the dealership did as good of a job as a private detailer, but the car looked good and is covered by this warranty for any defects going forward, including rental car coverage if it needs to go into the body shop. It was also convenient for us to have it all done and not schedule additional appointments with a separate detailer. I've done the PPF before and have had little issues with it that annoy me so I just decided to risk the rock chips and maybe get them professionally touched up in a few years.

You have a link to the coverage place?

I know- its silly its not there. Yesterday was my first time using forscan also - it was actually very easy. Just all about following instructions. You will need an OBD port connector to connect to the vehicle. Per recommendations on this form, I got the one below. However, some people prefer the wireless bluetooth version (its more expensive)

Really? I use a bluetooth one I got for around $20. I lost it once and had to buy another, then, of course, it turned up so now I have 2.

Just want to say that I'm holding out hope for you @Bigfeets ! - my dealer said they had 30 MME's arrive yesterday and I'm in NorCal. Also, I went from a status update on 10/6 in Argentine, KS to instantly in the Richmond railyard on 10/20 with no updates in between.

Considering they delayed my delivery date by 2 weeks and then it showed up on the day after my original delivery date, there is hope!

Thank you for the encouragement. It becomes so easy to be sour and cynical through the interminable waiting, failed predictions, and inconsistent/absent communication. I've been thinking of starting a new thread: "where are all the undelivered California Mach e EVs?" I think your dealer gave the answer! :D

Welcome surprise today when I decided to log-in and check on Order Status. My delivery moved up from 11/09/22 - 11/14/22 to 10/25/2022 - 10/31/2022. Was very doubtful that was the case.

Then I got a call from my dealer saying he was excited to see the vehicle in SLC. He said it should be on a truck up North approx. 250 miles in the next few days. Some light at the end of the tunnel.

Home sweet home!

Smooth sailing at Walnut Creek Ford. Took about 3 hours to do the paperwork but that was mostly due to my insurance company dropping the ball.

They gave me the X plan pricing, even though I didn’t order with a PIN, price protection back to 12/7/21, and Ford Options with a $2500 rebate. No hassles or issues. Best car buying experience I’ve probably ever had

He did tell me they removed 2 chips, one for the rear lift gate foot sensor and one for park assist. I’ll prob add the park assist later when and if I can. For the rear lift gate, I thought someone here said it’s just disabled and it can be enabled? I’ll have to dig through the thread.

Anyways, Hope everyone gets theirs soon!

Ya in my car the module was installed for hands free liftgate, so I just used forscan to enable. Find my post from earlier - instructions are there. They probably just dont know the module is still installed from the factory, and I doubt the dealer went in there and took out the module.

Ok I'm usually not a huge fan of white cars, but this with the light grey interior looks fantastic! Enjoy the ride! She's very pretty.
