Route 1 wheels without Aero Covers - the finished look with center caps installed

so glad you did this and took the time to post it. i want to do the exact same with my CR1, hate the hub cap look. will take a look at those center caps that was shared above.

did you notice any difference in range or handling or acceleration with the hub caps off? I wouldn't think much, if any.

I lost maybe 1 or 2 tenths of a mi/kwh. Nothing really to worry about

After an exhausting day of yard work I checked the mail, and lo and behold my center caps finally arrived. Scarlett needs a bath but I really love how the covers look, so here she is dirty and all. Oddly enough I wanted to post a link to the amazon page, but for some reason the seller and/or part aren't available any more. These were marked as 60mm hub covers but the inner dimension of the hub is 56mm:

Nice! Now you just need the 52mm stick-on decals to cover the hole. I got plain silver, but there are plenty of options.

That looks badass. Five spoke wheels never goes out of style. I wonder if anyone will ever do MME with a 5 spoke wheeel, and knockoff Center lugnut, like a GT 40?

Hi Tim, Are you finding this loss of efficiency still holds? I'm considering getting a set of CR-1 wheels here but none of them have the aero covers and many are a matte silver.

It's hard to say - I took the aeros off after 4 months so didn't have a lot of data. I don't think that it would get you more than 15 miles of extra range.
