For the last month or so, every once in a while I’ll get a “service vehicle soon” message. Sometimes it’s after a charge fault. If I turn the car off and back on it clears up. The dealer told me there was an update that was coming “later this year” to address this but they could do it for me now. Great. I take the car in and they say they can’t complete it but want to keep the car overnight to keep trying. I needed the car so I said no. I brought it back and this time they said there is a module that needs to be replaced so they could complete the update. It’s something that does not require the battery to be dropped (they don’t have the lift for it) and it’s not the HVBJB becaise I’ve already replaced that.

they can’t seem to tell me what this module is but apparently it’s on order now.

anyone else have a similar issue?

Sounds like they don’t know what they are doing, not familiar with any updates that are forthcoming for an issue like that that haven’t already been released

i guess I’ll see when it actually comes in and they give me the invoice. It’s probably just the service manager not understanding what the EV guy tells him. This is the same service manager that asked me if I wanted an oil change.

It’s pretty easy for them to get specifics, if not they are just super lazy.

Could be APIM or it’s an update where they need to be more actively involved in, but can’t because they ….
Do the vin check, and see if you have dealers more involved with ev’s in your area.

It's probably the gear shift module, I'd need your VIN to verify. Fiddling with the knob without pressing the brake first can generate the SVS error.
