Has Ford changed software yet to allow for adjustable levels of 1PD ?

I ask because where I drive (urban bumper to bumper) in my Lightning, 1PD is very harsh and very abrupt. 1PD lurches as I have to cover the brakes every few yards.

When I tried for a few days, my wife says 1PD makes her nauseous because of the constant lurching.
It takes a delicate foot, and a little practice to avoid lurching. But, you *should* be able to drive in bumper to bumper city traffic without lurching and without ever touching the brake pedal if you are in unbridled 1-p.

the trick is to smooth out your accelerator foot movement.... particularly when decellerating. Don't lift your foot completely all at once like you are used to when moving to the brake pedal... just lift incrementally and let the regen brake for you. and have 'auto-hold' enabled.

Yes, I am aware of the feathering light foot on the accelerator but where I drive, there are idiots that jump in front and my natural instinct is to jump on the brakes.

Can't rely on 1PD to stop in time for these idiots I drive everyday...

Does this thing chirp in “unbirdled”?

..
Whether one uses one pedal or two, it's best to retain that instinct.
This was my other concern with 1p.. if I continue with 1p, would it potentially impact my instincts when driving other vehicles?

I‘m not sure I see the correlation.
The lower response time to acceleration helps me cope with the fact that my mileage will suffer due to the e-heat being on and it sort of forces me to drive less 'Spirited" than I normally would. In unbridled I love the instant response, quicker steering and all around better feel, at least to me. So its really just a placebo of sorts that helps me drive more economically.

I suppose everyone is unique, but I have not found this to be a problem. I drive non-electric cars occasionally, without loss of brake instincts. I will admit when I switched the Mustang to 2-pedal the other day for the first time in months, it felt really strange and I did try to be extra careful for the first few minutes. But after that, no problem. YMMV.

unbridled 1-p is what driving a BEV *should* be.... Enjoy the torque, and then capture all the regen braking energy you can rather than throw it away as heat!

make it a challenge to see if you can drive without ever touching the brake pedal.... ;)
I tried 1 pedal seveal times and to me it is not what driving is. 50 plus years of all sorts of standard and auto shift vehicles has me quite well trained in using all the pedals to drive and for me its too late to change.??

I dunno, I switch between 3 different vehicles.... it get a little weird, but in emergency situations having max regen PLUS mechanical braking makes for incredible stopping power compared to a regular ICE or my old-school DC motored eMiata that doesn't have regen.

I have it turned off and use normal mode which is coasting regen which I much prefer driving in urban Los Angeles.

Sport mode is an in-between regen which I use for high speed / no traffic conditions and has moderate regen.

What is the equivalent mode the MME uses that has coasting regen and not sport or 1PD mode ?
I use Engaged and turn on the L mode. This gives engine-brake feel regen without being as aggressive as 1-Pd. IMO anyway.

The MME has blended braking. You don’t “waste” energy any more with 1PD off or on. You will still use regen if you slow down gradually. unless you wait until the last second and slam on the brakes.

It shouldn't. Right foot for accelerator and brake pedal, left foot for clutch.

Wouldn't 1PD increase the mileage by increasing the amount gained by breaking?
