the "dreaded HVJB failure" should be a full recall and fix by appointment. key word "dreaded". Ruins the experience of the car with all this "dreading". Just do the right thing Ford! geeze...
I have been 'Dread-free' since physical remove/replacement of HVBJB.

I keep hoping to see a more pro-active Recall allowing eligible owners to schedule non-emergency replacements before SVS Alert gets thrown.... but am doubtful @Ford Motor Company will step up to that.

It WOULD be a great step forward to get all the (1920) Dealerships that have now committed to EV Sales & Service up to speed, and generate Dealership Service revenue to invite their local (eligible) Owners to order the part ahead of time and schedule physical replacements to keep the EV tech busy! If I were a Dealership, I would ask Ford to upgrade the Recall response to help offset their Investment in committing to EV sales and service..... and start making some of the Service revenue.

This would be a win-win for Ford reputation, Dealership training, and Service revenue to help pay for investment in EV equipment.

I believe Aerosmith wrote a song based on this.

There is a term for posts where people bemoan the fact that people are dreading a HVBJB failure, as if a pending failure causes dread.

FORUM DELUSION

That's when the few members of a forum try to juxtapose their perspectives on the population at large.

Fact - this forum membership comprises a fraction of all Mach-E owners.
Fact - a fraction of this forum's members are aware of the HVBJB potential to fail, and only a fraction of them live "in dread".

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with how Ford is handling this. But to think that all Mach-E owners are living in dread of a HVBJB failure is simply FORUM DELUSION.

Note - I have trademarked the term "forum delusion". Any and all uses of this term require written approval as well as a "small" licensing fee.

I love my HVBJB, and will miss it when it self destructs. I will cry and maybe have a little ceremony to commemorate the 22k+ miles we spent together.

And hear I thought you would launch a tirade over trademarks being too much big government...

?

In all seriousness, I think legal protection for intellectual property is a good idea. But making a law that protects intellectual property is not the same as government running the system that controls the intellectual property. The law is good, the government bureaucracy is not.

If you think I'm gonna pay, you are forum-deluded.

Who enforces the protection? How does the form of enforcement look? What if someone decides to ignore the law and continues to violate the protection given by the law?

Court system, just like any other law. If someone steals your stuff, they are charged with a crime and then go through due process to determine if they really did steal your stuff. In this situation, civil court is probably appropriate and not criminal court. But a case could be made for criminal penalties as well.

So, a government entity will be in charge of that? That perhaps will look to another government department that has expertise in the subject area and makes sure that proper procedures are being followed, before it has to hit the civil court system?

Not necessary. The expertise in private industry far exceeds that in the government. The court system can handle experts from industry, as it does on a daily basis.

Can the court system handle a flood of cases? I'm guessing no.

A flood? I seriously doubt it.

By the way, I love my MME. How do you feel about yours? Are you in agreement with the OP, or are you glad you got yours? I even like the flower power wheels on my GT. A lot.

Oh, I like my Premium RWD ER just fine. I pretty much have no complaints about the car. It works as promised. I don't feel that I was promised functionality that Ford didn't deliver. I'm also fortunate to have a 2022 model, so a lot of teething pains that Job 1 owners have suffered have been largely absent. I feel for those owners.

I'm not too worried about the HVBJB suddenly toasting itself. I don't DCFC a lot, and I don't do 5 second WOT runs after DCFC'ing. I get why people are upset about it. I also get why Ford hasn't done a massive recall like GM did with the Bolt and the battery fires. It's a logistical and financial nightmare. At least LG was on the hook for most of the cost of the Bolt battery replacements.
