I just want to mention again that these covers were not designed to fit snug. They will all require the 3M sticky rings.

Also the 3M sticky rings are not glue or permanent adhesive. They can be removed with some force if need be.

Hi Steve, I wrote up a quick "how to install" here. #115
Thanks Mark. I just went ahead and did them using some tweezers to manipulate the rings. No problems. Appreciate all your efforts with this.

So, I actually made the installation far more difficult than it needed to be.

After cleaning tte areas with an interior cleaner then wiping down with isopropyl alcohol, I started with the smallest knob, the headlights, as it was small and on a vertical surface. I figured it would be the hardest. I was right but mostly self induced.

Even with my arthritis I was able to easily peel the first bit of backing paper off. After getting it centered (there is a bit of wiggle room if you’re not too far off), I tried peeling the 3M side off and got nowhere. What I never caught on to (I can be slow sometimes as all you long time forum members have surely realized by now) was what Mark was trying to tell us all along, you’re applying an extremely thin layer of adhesive, not a pre glued gasket. Once I realized I wasn’t peeling the backing paper from anything things went much easier. With my arthritis I found it somewhat easier to tear the second bit of backing paper and remove it that way.

All in all this was an easy install no more than 20 minutes for all 3 pieces including a trip back to the house for tweezers.

Oh, they look great, plus I think they’re quite removable using proper technique should the need arise.

Mine are in Los Angeles! Yay. Should come Tues or Wed. I'm excited. @markboris do you know when the start button ones are expected to be ready? Was something wrong with them?

No, nothing wrong with them but they were designed after the covers plus then Kevin sent me several different sizes for me to choose the one that fit the best within the black outer ring while still covering the silver part. Just so you know, Kevin has many many projects going for the Mustang (ICE) crowd and other cars as well. This guy literally doesn't sleep at least he seems to be up almost every time I text or call him. With the way things have been going the last few years plus this is the holiday season, they come when they come. I will for sure let you know when they will be shipping out. I was expecting them by now but I'll ask him how they are going.

Got mine today!!!!! Freaking love them. Only took like 15mins to get them installed. Hardest part just getting the backing started. Now that I see how thin the adhesive is, I'm not worried about taking them off. Awesome there are so many extra adhesives just in case. In my head I was thinking that crazy 3m tape that is almost impossible to pry off. Now it looks like it should! The feel is so much better too, cheap plastic feel is all gone :)

They look awesome Lynsey and yes it's the feel of these that is the number one reason people like them so much. Also, the satin colors are very subtle compared to the cheap glossy silver plastic knobs. I still really like your blue stripes....... ?

You guys nailed the bronze color. It matches perfectly! Also, thanks for the AOSK console cover recommendation. It's great. That piano black just looked dusty about 10 seconds after cleaning it. The color actually looks better in person. The camera changes everything a bit. Thanks on the stripes :) I like them too. I'm running outta things to do on this car now...hahaha. Still haven't done the wheels yet. I'm actually starting to like the flower wheels, only cuz they don't look like anything else on the road. Otherwise thinking maybe bronze wheels. Not sure. Or buying the GTPE wheels and powder coating them white to match the car.

It was really really difficult to get the copper/bronze color to match the interior of the GT for two reasons. One, anodizing aluminum is not like painting and you cannot color match as easily and two, there are several copper/bronze shades in the car. The stitching on the seats, piping on the door and dash and B&O emblems are all a little different. I did send Kevin the copper/bronze stitching from a rear headrest, piping from the dash and the B&O emblem. We decided to go with the B&O emblem since it is also aluminum and would be the easiest to match.

Received mine and installed them - they look great. I followed the instructions from #115 - thanks!

Applying the adhesive ring for the shifter knob went well. I removed the plain (non-3M-printed side), pressed the exposed adhesive side of the ring onto the original knob, then removed the 3M-printed side, then pressed on the new knob.

For the smaller volume ring, I decided to "get the 3M-printed side started" a little bit before pressing the ring onto the original knob. By getting it started first, I thought it would be easier to pull off once I applied the ring to the knob. Perhaps this was a bad idea since I kept messing up the adhesive ring, getting down to my 3rd and final ring before getting it mostly applied. So maybe I should have stuck with what went well for the shifter knob.

Thanks for the writeup Kevin and yes the first way you installed them were best. Again, if anyone runs out of these adhesive rings during the install, let me know and I will send you some free. I am out of them right now but expecting more in a week or so.
