I do not make a habit of leaving my dogs in my car. But on a recent trip the dog friendly hotel where I was staying prohibited leaving dogs alone in the room, even while you were at dinner, so I put them in my Mach-E and turned off the interior sensor. Or so I thought. Mid-way through my meal I received an irritated call from the hotel advising that my car was “going off” and the neighbors were complaining. So I had to get my dogs and we spent the remainder of the meal eating outside the restaurant. PLEASE FIX THIS FORD! My dealer tried but told me they cannot turn it off as it is considered a safety feature by Ford. When the driver toggles the alarm system to OFF let it stay OFF.

Welcome to the forum. This has been a complaint since day 1, and it does not appear that the behavior will be changed. The only solution at the moment is to cover the motion sensors with tape.

Change settings for car not to turn off (timer).
Leave car running.
Push 7/8 9/0 on keypad to lock door.

Thanks, I’ll try it.
Rick’s suggestion is good because you can also leave the climate control on and your canines can enjoy a nice, warm (or cool) car. ??

Is this just a North America issue?

The reason I ask is I leave the dog in the car all the time and never have the alarm trigger. I simple select 'YES' to turn off motion sensors when the message comes up on Sync screen once I've turned the vehicle off and before opening the door.

The setting for car not to turn off also doesnt stick for me.
Known bug. It’s been around since day 1. No idea why it might work properly in the UK though.

I also turn on a saved Sketch that says the dog is sage and the a/c is on… Reco from another member on this forum. Always remember to turn off the 30 minute car shutoff timer.

Thanks. I found it. Car icon/settings/vehicle/vehicle power down timer. It reverts back to on every time you turn the car off.
Settings, general (or vehicle?), first (or one of the first?) options. It resets to 30 minutes default every new start.

My car does the walk-away lock. I'm convinced the lock action sets the motion detector, regardless what of response to the shut-down question to turn off motion detector Yes/No. (YES, this is annoying! Why ask if you are not going to follow my direction? What are you, another teenage child?)

When I leave the dog in the car, I walk away. After I get the FP message the car locked on Walk-away, I use FP to unlock the car - thus turning off the motion sensor.

I suppose the car is more at risk for theft etc, but they's have to get past the dog first.
