The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS

Newbie here; can anyone help? I created a Motorcraft account and added a 1 hour FDRS subscription license to my basket. Unfortunately no button to allow purchase is displayed and there is a little footnote that says “* Please contact your Legal Representative to purchase products”. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

After no updates for a while...this morning an OBCC update shows up for my '21J1.

And for a '22 I looked up, and for my '22 Lightning as well. So obviously this one's for everybody.

Still no GWM or APIM for the new UI though for my car yet.

I updated FDRS to the latest version yesterday and looked at the module updates without plugging the car in. Besides the PCM, OBCC, and door modules, it showed an APIM update. My 2021 Job 1 recently got the 3.6.2 and 4.1.1 updates. It is cold today, so I do not know if I will update my car today rather than tomorrow to see if the APIM update is real.

Yeah same here, just a lump of OBCC coal from Santa in my car's stocking this morning.

Charge your 12v battery to above 80% before starting again.

Do the PCM first. Do not say "No" when it asks if you want to continue. I think you have some broken dependencies.

If that works do all the other updates but leave the APIM until last.

Let me know how that goes.

maybe i have solve to change interface type. i have vcx nano and seller told me to use like vcm II... not right.. look like it work if set as J2534...

VCX Nano will cause corrupted data and has been removed from the approved list of adapters (at least on the F-150 site, I haven't checked here). Link here.

So what was the problem? Did you need to reconfigure the drivers for the Nano?

no.. i install the same firmware version at first, and in FDRS i select it as J2534 and not VCM II

Since it got up to freezing I decided to update my 2021 Job 1 RWD Premium today. The APIM update took over an hour to download from the servers and a good chunk of time to copy the 5GB of files to the USB. When it was done have have the new UI and another GWM update showed up. I did that update, then went on to do the PCM (and SOBDM as part of it), OBCC, and the door modules.

The only problem is there is a DTC about the the Gearshift module having illegal data (or something similar). A retest did not clear it.
