I was going to refuse delivery and get my deposit back based on income rule. It was take delivery on or before 12/31 or don't take delivery at all, for me.

This $55k rule is gonna catch a lot of people off-guard, me thinks. Imagine filing your taxes not knowing about the CAR classification and IRS says no. $7500 credit -> $0 on your Mach E Premium.

I guess the Select RWD and AWD still make the cut?
How does the AWD make the cut?

The ID4 has better ground clearance. An SUV was traditionally a 4x4 vehicle with good ground clearance. The Escape and ID4 both have around 6.7 inches ground clearance; the MME is only 5.7 inches.

Maybe the IRS are using ground clearance in the formula?

*I just did a simple google search on all three cars for ground clearance. Just speculate what the IRS's thinking was.

It doesn’t matter what formula they use.
It’s arbitrary and dumb.

Higher ground clearance has what exactly to do with helping the environment?

Even if they do reduce the credit based on whatever rule they want, it shouldn’t be a hard line, it should be a sliding scale.

This will create tons of negative unintended consequences.

I don’t get the rush to cancel your order before it arrives at your dealer. Especially over newly released guidance that can still be contested by Ford or revised by the IRS.

People are saying it may be that GVWR of greater than 6,000 lbs. The premium AWD misses by 70 lbs.

If you claim it, you're simply committing tax fraud. Sure, you could argue you didn't know, and they might just charge you a penalty and interest. But, since you debated it on a forum where you setup your name as your user name, the trail is easy enough for a 5th grader to find...
True, but Ive already got my 2023 before EOY. I wasn’t saying I’d do the same. ?

Escape plug in is Front Wheel Drive….
I was arguing weight. AWD weighs more. It’s literally in my comment.
