I realize most people on this forum are Ford fan-boys and I'll likely get blow back. But - people need to know what customers are dealing with - good and bad.

I ordered a 2022 Mach-E premium AWD ext battery on January 3, 2022. We're going on a year and my car is still not here. I feel like I've been a good and loyal customer, but apparently not. This would be my 4th Mach-E. I also have an order on a Lightning and a Raptor. Both $80k+ vehicles. I was an early adopter of the Mach-E with one of the first 2021 deliveries. I have also owned 2 other mach-es this year to tie me over that I had to purchase from dealerships from their available inventory. I expected to see my order in June of 2022. Sure, I realize everyone has seen supply and labor shortages. I've been patient and understanding up until now. I called Ford to check in on the order and they still don't know where it is. I asked if this would be a 2023 vehicle now that we're in the new year, and they said no. Then I posed the question; 'if I'm taking delivery of a '22 model year in 2023, do i get a model-year-end rebate because the vehicle is effectively a year old? They had no answer and said I had to take it up with the dealership. End message was: Ford doesn't care.

So let me get this straight - I have to pay $59k +tax for car that is a year old with a questionable tax credit that is already worth $52k? I'm cancelling all of my orders today.

I've owned several electric cars. Do yourself a favor and seriously look into the other brands. The Bolt EUV is probably the best value EV on the market right now....and you can actually get them. For the same price as the Mach-E, the Kia EV6 is a better vehicle (AWD wind w/tech pkg). Faster....longer range...significantly faster DCFC....better warranty. I've owned both of these other cars and am speaking from experience and not just running my mouth. My first Mach-E was a real problem (which i posted about here- https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...car-before-you-buy-it.4479/page-7#post-168028). Some of these problems were later recognized by Ford in over-the-air updates and by actually giving customers 2 keys instead of 1 because of how buggy the mobile key was. The last 2 I owned (2022 premium STD batt, and a later year 2021 prem AWD ext batt), we're better built but the technology still lacking.

If you love Ford and love the mustang - get a Mach-E. You will enjoy it. If you're new to EVs and have an open mind - go do your research. you will quickly realize buying the Mach-E is like buying an iPhone 11 in 2023 while still paying the price of a pro max 14.

Why isn't your dealership telling you the status?

And, given that you've bought 3 of them, what's the big deal?

I love my Mustang Mach E and I totally agree with your iPhone analogy. This is going to be a challenge for Ford. People are going to begin to demand much shorter product refresh cycles. Tesla got away with it because they were they only game in town and the Elon hype crap. I’m personally sticking with them because I think the Mustang Mach E was a great V1 attempt (to follow your iPhone analogy, I took a hard pass on the original iPhone because of all the limitations and the super high price, while I jumped at the Mustang Mach E because of the “feature set” and compelling price). I’m hoping the mid-cycle refresh is a good improvement. I am troubled that Ford seems to be following their usual pattern of decontenting subsequent model years ? Ford needs to cut that crap out!

The dealership doesn't know. its just shows "in transit". They are on my page and also upset with Ford. I feel their pain. Here the manufacturer saddles them with sales targets and can't even give them the inventory they need to hit those targets. Then to top it off, they treat frequent customers poorly. That's why I'm upset. Zero interest in customer satisfaction. They're coming off the hay-day of people paying $10-20k over sticker for Broncos and Mach-e. Those days are over and they're going to wonder where all their loyal customers went. If you sell a grade "B" product with grade "F" customer service, you won't be around long.

I understand your frustration, my experience with Kia dealer was far worse than with my Ford dealer. I guess you got what you got to do. Does your dealer have VinView?

It's frustrating but just how business works with large companies. If you don't wanna pay MRSP thats fine they'll find someone else and if they can't they'll sell it to someone else for less.

Not saying its right, but its how it is and there really isn't anything you can do about it.

I would like to point out that you may not be getting a discount but you are paying substantially less since it is a 2022 and does not have the 2023 price increases factored in.

Have the dealer show you the vehicle visibility page. It's far more detailed than "in transit." And if that's all it does in fact show, it's likely still at the factory because it had problems.

I won't contest your comment about the Kia dealership and service. But the car was great.

Thank you for the education. I didn't realize this. I went a re-built a 2023 Mach-E online with the same specs and its $67,900! That is ridiculous for this car. If it had 225kw+ DCFC and a 350-400mi range, it would be worth that. Ford is in for a rude awakening.

You are most welcome. I had a couple customers in your shoes and told them "you can cancel and place an order for a 23 but you'll be paying a lot more for the exact same car".

I'm just hoping consumers start fighting back with their buying habits. When customers go into dealerships BEGGING for cars and throwing cash at them for allocations, we understand why Ford treats us this way. If dealers are going to take $10k over sticker....why don't we take it for ourselves and raise the price. I'm pro-American, but we are going to get smoked by the Koreans if we (collectively - manufacturers/dealers/consumer) don't stick up for ourselves. They can produce a better car for less money, even without the tax credit.

Unfortunately dealers are the reason for the price increases. Basically Ford saw the money being made and was not happy with it. Now though there is no negotiation becasue the mark up is built into the MSRP. Market will never readjust now....I hate Ford.
