I talked to my service manager on Friday. He is going to talk to ford engineers on Tuesday about it and see if TSB 22-2494 can be used on 2023 cars. Currently it only applies to 2022 cars that were delivered with same outdated versions of BC map. According to the TSB, the dealership has to conduct a manual programming of the gateway module (and any other modules) with the most up to date revision for modules. I have pulled fuses 11 and 19, performed a master reset, performed 10 key cycles, and driven the car for 100 miles hoping the maps would update on their own. Everything else on car works except HF BC lol. I will update once I talk to him on Tuesday evening. I don't think the BC map will update until the manual update to the GWM. At least, this is what they found out on 2022 MMEs.

Same here. "Hands-free driving mode available through 10-12-2022." My car was built after that date. My Ford account shows BC active for the next 3 years. Does anybody have a fix? Do I just have to wait for a map update?

Interesting read on this thread. I have a 22 premium ER that was built in September and had the 10-12-2022 date on the Bluecruise maps. A few days ago I called the OTA dept and they added my vin to a vin tracker and we’re expecting the update to be applied within 48 hours. The rep was helpful and seemed knowledgeable that the dealer would not need to be involved for this update to be applied. Well it has been 48 hours and no update. I’m beginning to think that I need to not hold my breath and wait for my appointment at the dealership on the 12th.

Note: 2023 owners may need to wait several weeks for a BlueCruise map update to enable Hands-Free mode. Ford has halted BlueCruise updates until further notice (since before Christmas). The hold may also apply to your automatic map updates as well if the server has been programmed not to allow updates.

I would expect a fix by mid January, in the meantime you will have to be patient. Ford engineers have been off for the holiday and return this week, and they will need time to develop a fix.

I do not recommend asking your dealer to update the maps at this time, this may not be wise considering the hold on updates. When there is an official fix or guidance released I will post it. It's not worth your time until then.

I' had my 23 for about 2 weeks and over 600 miles, when all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, BC finally started working. Just fine now. Never went to dealer, never rebooted the hell out of everything. Never got OTA for anything, much less updated maps.
I'm guessing it will happen like that for OP and others too?

That’s promising. Hoping it eventually rolls
Out for the 2022 as well.

Has anyone gotten handsfree BlueCruise to work on their 2023 yet? I’ve had my car since Wednesday this week and have already over 500 miles and still requires hands on driving. Info updates available and everything is enabled.
Mine only works on the interstate. I drive due 80 minutes without touching the wheel. I had to stay in the left lane (my MO anyway), otherwise it didn't know if it should take every exit.

I quickly read through these comments and I didn't see anyone mention the Speed while using Blue Cruise. I got my 2023 Premium AWD ER MME last week and we noticed that the Blue Cruise will not work if the Adaptive Cruise is set over 81 Miles/Hour (in a 70-Mile/Hour or 75-Mile/Hour Road). Maybe this has something to do with why your Blue Cruise isn't working. As long as you are going under 81-Miles/Hour it works pretty good. I also love the Passing Feature.

Posted this in related threads, though I would share it here:

On my first drive home from the dealer, BlueCruise w/hands free Worked like a charm (expressway only, of course). After that first drive it didn't work. Of course after that first drive I went through all the settings, tweaked, added key profiles, added PAAK, etc. Even though I had BlueCruise and hands-free ticked on in all the profiles and lane centering on, it still would not offer hands-free after tweaking and creating profiles. I decided to delete all the profiles and completely reset Sync. After that, it has worked perfectly for the last few weeks. I have not created profiles or added PAAK back since. if the expiration dates are good on the connected features and it still doesn't work, I feel like it might have something to do with profiles? ?‍♂

Mach-Lee's advice to wait is solid. Ford phone support told me to go to the dealer to resolve the outdated hands-free maps and now I have these addition problems and the original issue is still unresolved:

  1. Ford Pass shows connectivity error and asks to "update in-vehicle settings"
  2. In car I can't access the Connected Vehicle Features Sub Menu. A "Please Wait" pops up and it just returns to the same menu without expanding the sub menu. It's impossible to "update in-vehicle" connectivity
  3. Ford Pass PAAK no longer works. Charging status or location in Ford Pass no longer work.
  4. BlueOval subscription date has gone blank. Not sure if this still works at a charging station, but I won't rely on it.
Note that I just followed the advice of Ford phone support. I was on the phone again with them for over two hours. I spoke to both connectivity support and Ford Pass support. They both have asked me to return the car to the dealer. I've tried to escalate at Ford and dealer so they can assure me there is a fix before I give them the car again. I'm not bringing into service until I have confidence there is a fix for these issues.

I find non polarized sunglasses is a must for looking at the sync 4 and for the eye nanny to see through.

Tried it with polarized and I can't see the sync 4 clearly, flickers if I remember.

Is your Connected Services activated in your ford account? The Navigation and BlueCruise have to be activated I think.

At first it wasn't, but it ended up updating with an expiration of end of 2025, but still not working after that.

Cool. Looks like I’ll just wait rather than bring the car into the dealer. Wish the 90-day trial would begin on the date BlueCruise actually starts working (e.g., has functioning maps).

Oh, I had a customer where his wasn't working and then once he did that it worked.

Update:

I was able to resolve the loss of connected services in Ford Pass by removing my vehicle from Ford Pass and adding it back in. I had to force quit the app in order to finish activation. Unfortunately this broke PAAK and I have been unable to get Key Setup to work. It fails after trying to connect to the car after download the key. I've tried turning bluetooth off and on again on both my iPhone and in the car, but I still can't complete the setup.

I still do not have Hands-Free working and my maps are still out of date.
