For those waiting on orders, what does the Model Y price drop to $52,990 make you think?

For those looking at the $7500 tax credit, don't forget there's an income cap on it now.
That's why I was hoping tesla would include it in their lease price, but apparently they havent done that.

...yet

They can easily do that for the Performance versions or any versions right? since leases bypass all that income, foreign country blocks, etc.

There are tons of $55k+ cars available I've noticed. The sub $55k is almost gone, but the rest are sitting.

It still has to qualify based on IRS rules, but the lease bypass the Income limits. The MSRP limits still apply.

Are you sure about the MSRP limits on leases? I see Mercedes has $7.5k lease cash offer and those are $100k sedans, of course, this might not be tied to the tax credit, but any car maker can just toss $7.5k maybe. I haven't studied the law that closely since it doesn't apply to me.

I have 2022 price protection, but I am still thinking this is a game changer.
If they dropped the price to $15k I still wouldn’t buy it. It’s a ugly car that I have no interest in owning.

No, they do not. No MSRP limit, no income limit, no domestic (North America) manufacturing required, and no battery content requirements.

It's a pretty big loophole...

I’m thinking that you’d still have overpaid for an ugly fat catfish with wheels.
I couldn't stop imagining this, so I made it happen with very limited tools. ?

I couldn't care less about Tesla Model Y one whit, no matter what they're priced. Glad I ordered my MME on 11/25 even though I know I won't get it until probably June based on what I've seen of others' order and build dates.

I have a 21 MY with the 3rd row option, that we replaced our mini van with. I have the cyber 22, that i overpaid for, which i am bitter about, but I still love it. All in all I like the look of the MME better, and the drive is nice, but the Tesla's pickup, overall software, heated seats, and charge network, still make it a far better car than the ford.

My bad. There’s no income or price cap on lease. But manufacturers is not obligated to give you the tax refund.

Lol. Thanks! Hubby has a Tesla Model 3. I showed him and he wasn't amused (which made it even funnier to me). Bwahahaha!

Taking delivery of an MME Premium at MSRP now would seem like a huge risk. A Model Y LR AWR is $46.5K after the tax rebate, the M3 is even less. A similar spec MME is $63.5K, so depreciation of any MME at MSRP will be enormous once driven off the dealer lot.
I don't think this concept holds water. The value of a used Toyota Tundra isn't relative to the value of a used F-150.
