Man this on and on and on about this issue is getting absolutely hilarious! And the winner is.....................
My point all along.
I would be totally fine if the law was never enacted as well. The "spirit" IMO, was to give the Manufacturers a kickstart to open up the market to BEVs. I really don't know if that really happened to be quite honest but I do see the disparity in a few that got the 7.5k and those (due to bad timing) missed out on it. The groundwork for most companies are at least a decade or more before issuing a vehicle and the shifting sands if you will are never predictable. In other words, Ford would have pursued this because they saw a market that Tesla was capturing. No different than Ford reviving the Bronco to compete with the Jeep that was cornering the market.
My main point of contention was/is the hypocrisy in receiving the credit with no problem and then suggesting how bad it is to keep up with a similar system for future BEV owners.
I received the 7.5 k credit and I would not have purchased my car without it. Due to ordering a vehicle that didn't exist before my order, there is one more EV out there in the World now. I could have easily purchased a really nice ICE vehicle and had the same amount of money in my pocket at the end of the day so to speak even with the extra gas expense.
This is why I am not opposed to a future credit. I think it helped ( and will continue to help ) people like me to take the leap towards a BEV.
I am from a farming community and subsidies have been around for years and this is nothing new. It reminds me of the Farmers that would complain about people getting welfare while at the same time they are cashing their subsidy check.
One again, if you complain about welfare then don't cash your check. If you complain about the subsidy of these BEV's, then don't be a participant.
And, as they say in court, your honor I would like to stipulate to something. And to that the judge says, ok sir go ahead what is your stipulation?
Here goes Dennis, I stipulate to the fact that I am a selfish hypocritical money hungry ho that will take any and all tax deductions, tax credits, subsidies or checks that uncle Sugar will send my way and laugh all the way to the bank! And I really don't care what anyone else thinks or what they get because honestly, and to be quite frank, it is every man for himself!
So, you can now burn me at the stake, put me in front of the firing squad or whatever but please please please keep going with all this bull shite because it is absolutely positively f**king funny as hale and I am loving all this reading each night!
