In a manner reminiscent of the recent Bronco trim swaps, and the Ford website pictures have been changed less than 2 weeks til deliveries start. This confirms what was seen on the roadshow pictures that @ChasingCoral and others said the reps didn’t know about.

The white wheel (my favorite part of the design) is no more.

I was 50-50 on the light grey steering wheel trim anyway. If it was there I would like it. If it was not I’m not heartbroken over it. Still glad I ordered the light interior either way.

There’s a reason the white wheel was in all the concept sketches. It just looked better. I’m really disappointed.

The white accented steering wheel is nice looking but reviewers of other cars say that white steering wheels get impossibly dirty and oily from hands so they're hard to keep clean.
I’d say sure but the white was intentionally not on any touch surfaces, just the interior of the bottom. Plus if the perforated seats aren’t getting dirty from sitting on them every day, then I don’t see how some leather wipes on the accent of the wheel you never touch would.

On long highway drives that's exactly where my hand goes
My dad was originally going to get a Bronco and cancelled his reservation after they pulled a similar stunt under the “preproduction” disclaimer. Don’t advertise something you’re clearly not pursuing and change it after you collect thousands of deposits.

Who knows, maybe this is what we’ll get delivered next month

Well, this is annoying. And when I was taught to drive, I was taught to place my hands at 10 and 2. Besides, aren't we supposed to be keeping our hands OFF the wheel on "long highway drives" after the OTA?

Gallery pics 11 and 13 are STILL showing the grey trimmed steering wheel. Remember, @trutolife27 said he was going to be at a meeting on Monday with suppliers where he might be able to get a definitive answer.

Those are the old pics. The configurator doesn’t show it at all anymore. It wouldn’t get changed arbitrarily. The cars are already being built supposedly.

I certainly didn’t get an email updating me that what I purchased has changed, did anyone else?

Skin oils. The white parts of the seats should mainly be touched by you through your clothes. The steering wheel is mainly going to be touched by bare skin. Yes there's exceptions to both, but generally it'll be the case. I'd consider any part of the steering wheel to be a "touch surface."

I'd rather not have a grubby section of the steering wheel.

I don’t think that Ford suddenly remembered skin oils exist 2 weeks before deliveries. It’s a supply or cost issue likely, and at this late on the game with no customer communication whatsoever it’s very misleading and disappointing. The whole Bronco forum nearly melted down when this happened to them.

Couple of thoughts. I hadn't followed the Bronco situation at all, but I agree that your photos above show a pretty dramatic downgrade between the pre prod and delivery. BUT the difference in the MME interiors is way smaller...in fact I'm not seeing anything beyond the 2 grey lower steering wheel inserts.

I get what is bothering you, but personally this is way too small of a change for me to care about or even want to be bothered with communication about. Do I want an email if the battery or motor specs change? Absolutely. Do I want one over a few square inches of fake leather changing color? No, and honestly I'd be annoyed to be bothered by something so trivial.

You might get it on GT or later versions of the car but on the first go they most likely dropped it for financial reasons.
