Today……10:40am

car plugged in, @ 80% ( charge to setting is 90%), not charging
set a departure time of 12 noon, outside temp 34 degrees
departure time is shown on the “ home” page of the vehicle page
car now charging since departure set, shows est. finish time of 1:04pm Friday
No mention of “ preparing for drive”, yet….. we’ll see if this changes……
Let me check the new 2/23 owner‘s manual, located within the Fordpass app, and see if this is to be the new norm……..

I tend to be a tolerant person, as far as my car….., however these software anomalies are lessening my patience….! Bill P

If it is actively charging, as you are, I don't think you are going to see preparing to drive, but not sure. You are unlikely to get to 90% by departure.

A proper test would be to fully charge to your limit, then set a departure time for the next day.

I recently set a departure time in the car, and it worked perfectly.

What's the problem here Bill? Are you expecting it to charge outside of set charging hours or something?

I was actively charging today at 86% of the 90% limit set for my work chargers. About a half hour before my scheduled departure time it starts preparing for drive, then cabin preconditioned as well. I’m on 4.1.3 and set departure times in the car not in FordPass and it’s working perfectly.

I guess I'm wondering why the car started to charge( only after a departure time was set in FordPass) when it was outside it's normal charging period!
I don't remember this happening in past Departure setting.
My state of charge was 80%, and said "waiting to charge...." , until I put in departure time, & it started right a way....... when I looked at, closer to departure time, it did show preparing for drive, & then cabin temp prep. Battery % went up to 85% Bill

Departure times stopped working reliably in Dec '22 after a FP update. Now it only works for me about 20% of the time. Otherwise everything else in FP is working. Been a bumpy road the past couple months but things seem a bit better.

Departure times have priority over charging hours. It needs to draw power from the wall to heat the battery. So you will see the EVSE drawing power.

If anything, perhaps the bug is that it’s trying to charge the battery to a higher SoC during a departure time, it should hold the SoC relatively constant if you’re outside of charging hours?

Mach-Lee…- EXACTLY! Departure settings not as reliable as prior to update!
Thanks for listening……… Bill P
