Besides hard driving on a warm day, Is there any way to trigger the active shutters on the front of my Mach-E to open? (wanting to make sure they are working)

Should come on when you are parked and it's warm out

Yeah. Problem is that it's been pretty cool out here in the DFW area for a while.

After getting back from a buggy road trip this weekend it got me thinking about how many of these big grasshoppers I might have inside mine.

I'm always worried about scooping up a bird, some have kamikaze into my car but thankfully haven't caught one in it yet lol

I was just visiting DFW from Canada, and you guys have it colder than we do! Lol. The only thing opening down there were the Storm Drain Shutters! Lol. Great people, lots of BBQ, and rifles we are not allowed to have up here. Had the Rib Eye at the Hard Eight. Can't wait to get back down there!

Is there reason to suspect they aren’t working?

Everytime I start the car with the A/C on (it is usually on in Hawaii) the cooling fans kick into high and the shutters open up. Try that.

Back in high school I had a 5.0GT. The constantly broken fog lights came out and I built a cold air intake. One night in the way home it became a cotton tail bunny intake. Poor guy survived but ended up 8 miles from home.

Just plug it in. Mine always cycle open and closed regardless of the temp.
Mine do this on my home 48 amp charger but not at my work 32amp charger.
So plug into a high power lvl 2 and they will open for sure.

I recently had to have them replaced (along with the front radar sensor and the condenser coil behind them) due to road debris damage and ever since, thet seem to be "stuck" in a not-quite-closed position.

I'll take it back into the shop to diagnose.
