I'm sorry what? ?

A lot of people gonna be spitting out their drinks at the signing. Hey, that would make a great ad for the competition.

Well, if the Toyota BZ4E used lug nuts subscriptions, why can't MB use a go pedal subscription?

You really only need the 1st months subscription. That's the only time you constantly show anyone how fast your new electric is. After that you forget to fully floor it on the way to the taco shop.

Well, that kind of depends. Didn’t @scoopman get his second HVBJB replacement at a taco stand after flooring it? ?? <runs and hides>

I guess this is one of the many unpopular reasons why people are able to lease brand new Mercedes EQS sedans/SUVs for $450/month :D

It’s a Mercedes, they’d be on the way to a schnitzel stand. ?

I know I am in the minority, but I like this. I sure wish I could pay a fee now to upgrade my Premium to a GT like speed. Yes, I know I could trade mine in and buy a GT, but with the depreciation on mine and the extra cost on a GT, that's like a 20 grand price. I'd much rather just give them my credit card and pay 60 a month, or the 3 grand total one time price.

Does anyone actually READ what it said before expressing outrage??

  • You can pay $60/month or $600/year to unlock up to 80 extra horsepower and a 1-second quicker 0-60 time, or a one-time fee between $1,950 and $2,950 is another option.

  • I actually LOVE this idea. I would pay $2-3k for a horsepower upgrade. And if you’re keeping the car less than 3 years…… go with the subscription model. Your choice!

  • How is this a bad thing???

If people agree to pay extra money for stuff that's already installed on their car, it will never stop.

I mean, MBs are nice, I’ve owned one. But starting price 104k, and you don’t even get full send?

The Mach E GT has 562 hp available from the already installed motors. I would gladly pay $2-3k or more to unlock it.

I gladly paid $500 to unlock the extra horsepower that was “already there” on my last car when I tuned my Chevy SS.

People have been paying extra for more power for as long as cars have existed.

But to get 80 hp for $3k AND have it fully covered under factory warranty? Sign me up!

But if you don’t want it, don’t pay. I just don’t understand how “having the option” is a bad thing.

And the subscription? Totally optional too. It’s cheaper if you don’t keep the car long.
