I kinda love the UFO sound. I’d also want a T-Rex and of course a myriad of farts.
I would let my car make noise again if it could do this.

Borla showed this off at SEMA, and hasn't ever started taking orders for it -- it's kinda vaporware at this point. Waaaay expensive too, expected to be priced over $1000.

Here's one of the videos of the SEMA demo:

It was also featured on All-Girls Garage, which you can purchase for $2.99 here if you want to see how tough it appears to be to install. TLDR: not only do you have to fit the speaker system in the back under the diaper, but you have to run wires to tap into the CAN bus it appears. It would be much more elegant to have this be an OBD wireless dongle that paired up with the speaker wirelessly.

But they are an exhaust company, not a consumer electronics company...

I think it is quite amusing hearing the people whine about this. I have a nephew that sells cars for a living and he owns an older Mustang and he tries to tell me that the MME isn't a Mustang.

It kind of reminds me of those Lactaid commercials.

Ask your nephew if he prefers the economy '64 Falcon or the '70 Pinto as the platform for a "real" Mustang?

Dont see the need but from the responses here apparently some people miss the noise of an ICE vehicle. Me personally I preffer the quiet of the Mach-E.
With Delawares new enforcement of "loud exhaust" folks around here are already worried what would happen to classic muscle cars :oops:

Not interested. Prefer "natural stealth".

I like the UFO sound For a direct replacement to the stock pedestrian alert tone. I would want it to accelerate and decelerate with the car so it would need some sort of tie in the to reading the drive train output/input. As everyone else has said, a custom sampler would be nice. We have been do sounds with a cheap keyboard synthesizer since the mid 80’s. I’m just not smart enough to tie the sample to the output of my OBDII car scanner app.

64 Falcon. Why is this even a question.

I am all for the silent mach-e. But I also have some safety concerns and turn my noises back on in busy parking lots. If I had cooler noises I might use it more often. If it could make Star Wars noises, I’d keep it on all the time. Screaming Tie Fighter as I blow by a WRX… Yes Please.

Actually, the “elegant” solution would be a Bluetooth or WiFi connection to an app that would allow all kinds of configurations and allow user-downloaded sounds. Easy to get the vehicle speed/acceleration from a small sensor in the device. They could probably make the entire device an inline module to the noisemaker speaker.

I must be getting old…I don’t get it. I think I’ll save the money and dig out last New Year’s twirling sound maker.

Now if I can just talk my wife into twirling it out the window while I drive…..

Just no, no, no. I like the quiet power and acceleration of an EV. Not some fake immature sound that kids make.

Please turn on the volume and watch til the end.
First one is simulated exhaust, second one is airplane, third one is UFO ?
Whats your thought on this?

My personal opinion is.....
it is stupid to ADD noise, complexity and cost.

Shelby added the Borla 'exhaust sound' and replicated rpm and shifting even.... stupid in my opinion, and I would not pay $0.01 to add ANY sound as a fake external noisemaker.

Yes, but fun is often stupid.
