New owner of a standard range awd. It states in the manual that if the 8th number in your vin is 4 or 5 you have a lfp battery. My vin has a 1 so i assume that means i have NCM battery. It also reads extended range NCM and standard range LFP in the titles. So am i right to assume that i have a NCM battery

All Mach-Es delivered to date have an NCM battery. That will presumably change soon, and standard range models will have LFP.

Is this the 8th NUMBER or 8th DIGIT in the VIN? Digit meaning letter or number?

My 8th number, the last number of the VIN is a 5. The 8th digit, including letters, is a letter.

Build week 5/8 for those curious.

Digit. Since your 8th digit is a letter, it's not a 4 or 5.

Since you're new, let me clue you in to a few things.

1) It's frowned upon to read the manual. You're expected to spend $50 - $70,000, and then immediately start asking questions like "How do you start the car" and "Will I get electrocuted if I charge in the rain"?

2) It is twice as bad if you actually read the PDF manual before taking delivery. The goal is to ask your salesperson all these questions, get all the wrong answers, then go on Facebook and post these answers as facts, so you can mislead other people and spread the malfeasance.

3) Now that you've read the manual, the last thing you want to be doing is appearing like you understand how to use the vehicle. It's much better to come on a forum like this and say "Is the glasses holder for any type of glasses, sunglasses included? What if they are prescription?"

[/sarcasm font]

Seriously, kudos to you for reading the manual. Shocking how many don't, and then a year or more later say "I didn't know it did that". Welcome!

I still only charge to 80% because I have heard it helps preserve the battery. Does anyone charge to the recommended 90% With NCM batteries ?
