On April 25, I received the notification in FordPass that I was rolling with the latest Ford Power-Up and, when I clicked on the Update Details button, it gave me the standard text for 4.2.5. I took my car in for service after that and they updated "some" modules. Sadly, I'm not sure which were updated and which were not. Anyway, I know have the below on the Sync screen in the car. Any idea if I have 4.2.5, or what happened to 4.2.5, or whether 4.2.5 will redeploy or something? Yes, I've tried going on a couple of drives - nada.

Mine says Not Completed for the last OTA I received, 4.2.2, and then if I leave it on the screen for a couple minutes, many times but not all times, it changes to say completed.

Odd for sure.

Have you left it on that screen for 2-3 minutes?

My assumption is there is an API call that sometimes works and gets the correct status and other times it fails.

I just went out to the car to reproduce. Takes about 10-15 seconds to switch from not completed to completed.

@Mike G first told me about this happening when I complained in a thread about mine saying not completed and wondering if that would mean I would no longer receive OTA.

At the time I didn't see the same behaviour he described but a few days later it started switching to completed.

I notice that yours is doing what mine was doing as well...saying automatic updates are OFF and there's no schedule set....and then in about 10 seconds while you're watching it, it changes to show that automatic updates are ON and what the schedule actually is set to.

I believe that's the new code in the updates as follows:

If customer = @Jimrpa, then execute Jerk Chain,
Else, apply update.

I am so not observant that I didn't even notice that part!

Well, I left the screen open for 5 minutes this morning and the status didn’t change from Not Completed. Note that, as the original picture shows, a schedule is set and Automatic Updates are On. I’m pretty sure Ford isn’t punishing me for being a jerk. Any other ideas?

At least in my case, for the 4.2.2 OTA I received that was marked as Not Completed, it was many days later before I started seeing the behavior I showed in the video.

I don't know exactly how many days. In the beginning I checked every day or so to see if it still said Not Completed, then I forgot about it, and about a month later I checked and got the behavior in the video which remains to this day.

Ok, thanks. I’ll keep an eye on it. I just don’t want to get into some weird ā€œjammedā€ mode that prevents other updates (such as the FordPass frunk button update ?)

I had/have the same concern as you.

I tried to be patient and see if 4.2.5 arrived OTA for me but I ended up using FDRS.

I hope you are not blocked in the future.

Thanks. remember, I’ve previously received 4.2.5 successfully

I understand.

I was saying in my case while I was experiencing something similar to you but with 4.2.2., 4.2.5 was rolling out EA only.

I was too impatient to wait for it to go to general release and see if I would get an OTA or not while my care was in that state.

I can tell you that updating with FDRS was not an issue while in that state.

An update: no change - 4.2.5 still has a status of ā€œNot Completedā€. Yes, I’ve waited 3-4 minutes on the software update screen in case it needs to refresh. Yes, I’ve been on several long (1.5 hour or more) drives far away from my home network.
Any thoughts?
