I'm going to put an AirTag in the Mach-E's catalytic converter. Those things are stolen too often these days. Not sure how to protect it from the intense heat in there, though?

Also, I don't have an iPhone. I'm starting to question the wisdom of my plan.
Yeah, not having a iPhone makes it tough. Maybe you could just chip it? it works for both dogs and cats, so that should be okay, right?

What do they change the cats into, anyway? Gerbils?

It appears that a lot of people do not understand this basic fact

One day someone will probably attempt to steal a battery pack. Don't think it'll go too well, but the amount of money in that thing will surely attract some idiot with a "genius idea".

What are you going to do with the info if your car is stolen? How fast will police respond to report that you found your own car?

I have one hidden in my car for $30 it's an extra layer of protection at some point if stolen the car will be near someone with an iPhone and it will get detected. My wife doesn't drive the car only me so it doesn't notify her she is being tracked she is only in the car when I am so that does not activate a notice to her iPhone she is being tracked.

You can now ignore AirTag tracking notifications if its one you don't own, it's a new feature in one the latest updates in the past couple months

LOL it might lead to an injury lawsuit because the alleged thief’s arm was mutilated when the battery allegedly crushed it. ??

Especially if it isn’t labeled- beware of stealing battery- heavy, assisted lift may be required- kind of like what the airlines use for my sisters luggage

if you don’t have a sticker you are definitely asking for a lawsuit.
