I am no longer in EA anymore. I got waitlisted when they re-shuffled the program earlier this year. Anyways I had 4.2.4, but got this DC fast charging update yesterday.

I mean I know WE can check it, but the average user has no idea how to do what we do.
Speak for yourself ? I’m not digging out my multimeter and disassembling my frunk every time ford pushes an update ?

Oh neither am I, but I did plug in my OBD2 reader last night to check the 12v level before 4.2.6 installed.

I was joking slightly. I’ve held off on buying an OBD reader because the ones certified to work with Ford are so bloody expensive, but I just broke down and ordered a “cheap” ($59) one recommended by another poster.

Yeah I get that. I didn’t know there were certified ones. This one has worked well so far for me.

It’s good to have all around, you can diagnose your other cars too if you ever need to.

Well, looks like not charging is a precondition that must be met for OTA to install. Charging paused at 1AM when the OTA tried to install, but it didn't install due to preconditions not being met and resumed charging. There was no failed message in FordPass. The car was charging the preceding 4 hours, so the 12V being low would not have been the issue. Recommend staying unplugged when trying to install OTAs.

The charge curve is controlled by the BECM, which would have last been updated in the 4.2.6 OTA.
This likely explains why I rarely get OTAs when at home. My special EV TOU meter rate means my car is was set to start charging at 1 a.m. (when at home).

I've got an extra one, an OBDLinkMX with up-to-date flashed software. Anyone want it? Pls DM me.

Is the "official" charge curve published anywhere? Is it different for extended range vs standard range vehicles

I have the Veepeak. it's great for ABRP and watching your car dance with the DC charger. However, it doesn't support getting at some of the CAN modules with FORscan (only sees some modules) due to its protocol support, so there's some features you can't turn on. For me it was the power meter, really wanted that one, got a fancy. But the veepeak connects really well with CarScanner so it's in the car all the time. I do unplug it when I'm not using it because there's no security.

No, and it varies with battery temp. Standard range will be about 75% the speed of extended range. Here’s a recent 50% to 80% curve with ideal temp conditions. You’ll get just over 150 kW peak to start and a gradual decline to about 76 kW right before it abruptly drops down to 44 kW at 80%.

Dumb question Lee - how do you map the charging curve? OBD reader + App?

Anyone know the OBCC module software P/N for this update. I’m currently on AP
