Yesterday I received this offer from Ford. For me this was 1 week after my Mach-E began production. Unfortunately, I have already paid a local EV electrician to install a Level 2 charging station, so I can't take advantage of this. My sales rep at the dealership had not heard of this and would have alerted me before I went out and had the work done myself. Maybe Ford could send this out a little earlier, so people don't purchase their devices and get them installed before learning about this offer. Hopefully, some of you will be able to take advantage of this.

I’m working with our HOA to install a communal charging station in the building’s garage… and the cost between EVSE providers ranges from $7,000 to $38,000. You might not be missing much if they mark their services up.

I bought the Juicebox 40A box for $579. The EV installer charged $1250 to do the installation. Unfortunately, my breaker box was on the opposite side of the house, so I had about a 60 foot run to get to the garage. A large portion of the cost was for the wire. I also had him install a NEMA outlet rather than directly wiring the box. So the Qmerit offer would have covered my installation cost.

Wow, good pricing, considering the conduit! My quote was so high that I didn’t do it.

When I click the button, it goes to a screen that generates a code that it says is for me. It apparently isn't a site that anyone can get into. Maybe Qmerit is trying to make an entrance into my area.

I bought their Juicebox 40A on eBay for $306, then paid a retired master electrician $250 (including the cost of a $60 industrial outlet) to install the 240V outlet. The outlet was close to the breaker box, which kept the installation cost down.

Your estimate will be inflated by $1250 or will be $1250 or slightly less if it's a $300 job.

i tried asking my hoa but they said no, i think because no way to monitor who would use it, might get characters living out of the community coming in to use the free chargers

There are things you can do. First, California is a “right to charge” state, which means HOA can’t simply say you are not allowed to have a charger. Also, there are a number of different options to have access and billing managed by the device manufacturer so that each unit owner is charge for usage and no freeloaders from outside the community can simply come in and use the charger. We are planning to put in a Wallbox Pulsar Plus 48 amp, which is the best I could find to charge relatively quickly for what most EVs can handle (11.5 kW).

Through my utility provider, Xcel Energy, I had a ChargePoint charger installed for $200 out of pocket.

They gave me a $500 rebate bringing it to that price, and I had to use one of their installers.

My wire run was about 10’.

Correct, my HOA said as long as the charger is installed inside my garage, they are perfectly fine.

If it involves installing on an exterior wall or a post, that would require architectural drawings submitted for approval.

I thought Ford had partnered with Sunrun? I know they did for the Lightning.
