Can anyone with access lookup why 4.2.6 is failing over 2 weeks now. I have tried everything posted in the forum, from leaving the car running for 6 hours, charging to 100%, driving for 2 hours then charging to 100%, Etc. I check my battery charge using a plug I put in my cigarette lighter. While driving it shows 14.X volts, and when I power car off before updating it shows 13.x volts. I have tried to update manually and let it update on schedule with no luck for either. It always fails with some other service has interrupted the update. I have never had a failure on any other update. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Buy a 10A battery charger, leave it connected overnight, and try the update in the morning.

Make sure car is unplugged before starting update.

Mine keeps failing too for over a week and then yesterday while I was working, the Ford pass app says it completed. I did nothing different than before. It just installed this time.

I am having the identical issue and have tried everything you have tried. All previous downloads have been problem free. I have a 2021 GT.

Similar failure story with 4.2.6 update and unfortunately no definitive answer as to why it eventually worked. Scheduled updates have been programmed for every day at 1 am. Failure to update notification getting in the car each morning for more than a week. I would then try an immediate forced update with the same failure, tried after driving the car - no success. Hooked an external battery charger to the 12 V and charged to 100% and left the car for the scheduled update to attempt at 1 am, next morning successful update?? Car was in my garage with WiFi access and no charger connected (battery or level 2).

Same thing here, since I bough that car, all previous updates have downloaded without a problem.
I have had about 60 failed attempts since the update availability showed up on my Ford Pass 06/01/23.
Initially, I called Ford to troubleshoot, they advised that I visit my dealership.
I went to the dealership, they kept my car for a full day, performed all kinds of other pending CSP and then called me to let me know that I didn't drive my car enough and that my 12V battery was testing as good but was "depleted", the tech advised that I take a road trip and try to "Update Now" upon my return.
I asked them why they couldn't take care of the 12V battery and charge it enough so that it would allow the download, they told me that that they were only allowed to change batteries and that charging them was not allowed.
Took a 1 hr. each way road trip on the freeway at constant speed (55 mi/hr.) charged my car to 90% (upon my return) tried the update, failed.
I called Ford again and they asked me to visit another dealership in my area.
I still called the first dealership to tell them how unhappy I was. The next day someone from that dealership called to read me a text "from Ford?" explaining that there was a server-side corruption on the FDRS.
I called Ford to let them know that my original dealership has changed their story as to the reason the update was failing and, made an appointment with a different dealership to whom I explained the whole story (including the name of the dealership that could not help me). The appointment is for the beginning of next week, I'll keep this thread on the loop on the results.
Had a wonderful experience with the car so far, what is really puzzling is that Ford themselves ; the very people who have engineered and built that car ; can't come up with a valid reason and a fix for the repeated failed updates for the last 16 days

Try charging to 100% before next attempt. I called the OTA helpline this morning and this is what they suggested and it worked.

I think I did try that during the first week (of failures) after reading the posts on this forum.
My car is charging right now, ill push it to 100% and try again.

It failed on mine. When I got in the MME the day after it was to update the screen said there was a problem. I went to the update page and selected Update Now. It said I had 2 minutes to leave the car and couldn’t touch it for like a half hour. In heck an hour later and the update was done. The language above may be off a bit as I am writing from a couch and it was two weeks ago.

If you are still in a failed state, call OTA team at 833-389-0848. Their hours are 8:00 a.m. -11:00 p.m. EST (Monday-Friday) 8:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m. EST (Saturday). In the event, the phone number(s) do not work, call the CRC at 800-392-3673 and say " Over the Air Updates for Mustang Mach-E" for example.

Charged to 100%, unplugged the vehicle, clicked on "Update Now", got the dreaded "Update Rescheduled" Car was not able to update as scheduled because certain precondition(s) were not met...
Going on 3 weeks of failed updates after trying all suggestions from this forum and having visited the dealership twice in 2 weeks.

FWIW… was traveling this week and every AM got the message that update failed due to precondition not being met. Was home today and forced a manual update and wait-watched, failure with same message.

Car was at 66% and plugged in. Ford rep said should be at 85% (that’s new) and in park.

For ? and giggles, put the parking brake on, turned auto headlamps fully off, and tried again … and it worked this time.

Not sure if it was headlamps or parking brake, but it would appear it was one of those preconditions?
