Can't deal with the bouncy ride anymore after two weeks with the Mach-E. What do I do?

What are your goals? Anything lower is going to have a stiffer ride but handle better.

Not sure how you do #3. Don’t the coil overs replace the stock shocks?

And isn’t #1 and #4 the same thing?
Lol... yup, you got me. May have had one too many cups of coffee to my own detriment lol.

Thanks for walking me through that ?

Goal: smooth ride.

Possible COAs I'm considering and asking for input (Pro/cons/trade offs) from the experts.

2022 Premium AWD Extended

1) Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering springs + Blistein shocks (to the specs that Mark and others have so diligently tested)

2) Stock setup + Kw Coilover kit

3) Stock shocks + Eibach lowering spring + Kw Coilovers

4) Blistein shocks + Eibach

Thoughts?

This has been discussed quite a bit. You cannot get a smooth ride in the Mach-E. There is not enough suspension travel to give a smooth ride. It’s a heavy SUV with a sport car suspension.

Bilstein shocks will not improve a thing. The only shocks that can improve the bouncy ride are ones that have a firm rebound and soft compression which is opposite of the OEM shocks. The Koni’s I build up for the rear of the Mach-E are the one of the few that can be adjusted like this.

Where do you find these Koni shocks and what is the part number? Any help on this?

What about the kW coil ones ?

If you are talking about the KW shocks, no they don’t have an adjustable rebound so that won’t work. However the full KW kit with springs work well to control the bounce.

Please link me to the full kw kit ? Thanks so much. The ones I was talking about are the 3200$ one.

That’s great to hear. What settings do you recommend for a smooth ride ?
After some experimenting when I put the KWs on, I stayed with the KW factory recommended settings listed in their owner's manual.

For a full picture, I also have the Eibach anti-sway bars on the car. Highly recommend both mods for a great-handling car that's easy to live with.

Out of curiosity, what did these additions cost you, and is there a national auto chain that is trustworthy to install these mods, or are you guys doing these yourselves?

I am 2 weeks in to the 2023 GT Job 2. On the fence and interested in a couple of options, preferably cheap-ish (less than 1k?) but I know nothing about cars and this does not sound cheap.

I have not installed them yet, but the Eibach lowering springs have very good results regarding improving ride comfort. Also, installing the Eibach sway bars significantly improve stability.

Doing both of those modifications may put you over the $1k threshold unless you do the bars yourself. I replaced my sway bars, and it took a full Saturday afternoon, but it was not hard. I had never replaced suspension components before. There are good instructions and lessons learned in this forum to help you.

The springs need to be done by a professional, and you will need a four-wheel alignment afterwards.

Thank! My biggest complaint is the stiffness going over potholes and bumps in the roads. Anything to smooth out the ride at a cheap cost would be preferable.

Are you going to a suspension specialist? I suspect Ford is not interested in installing 3rd party parts.
