2 years in and I’m still discovering new things about this car. This weeks discovery, the “Medium” cabin temp setting in the departure times section, despite being orange colored which to me indicates heat, is actually more like setting the climate to 70°F. In the winter it will heat and in the summer it will cool.

Short of prepping for a road trip, or extreme outdoor temps I don’t know why you would use anything but “Medium”.

I don’t know for sure, but it seems like Warm would be the equivalent to setting the climate to HI, and Cool would be setting it to LO. Basically cranking the temp all the way up or down.

from my experience, the cool and warm settings are not temperature based. i've walked up to my car late (i.e. 10-15 minutes after the departure time) and everything is still on absolute full blast

i think both just blast AC / heat respectively until you enter or the timer is over. in the winter when i get in, i want to say it's like 85+, in the summer it's like <60, but again i don't think it's on purpose it is as warm and cool as it can possibly make it essentially. sometimes i'm sweating/shivering for a few minutes

that said, i have no idea what medium is as a result lol

I had always done Cool in the summer and Medium in the winter. Cool was always frigid, and medium was always reasonably warm, but not HOT. I had never tried Medium in the summer until this week. Turns out if Hot is like setting your climate to HI, and Cool is like setting it to LO, then Medium is more like setting it to right in the middle.

It is the Goldilocks of temp settings if you will ?.

Medium is warm in the winter, I can confirm that.

Basically it seems like Medium is like setting your cars climate to 70° F. In the summer that would cool and in the winter that would warm.

If only there was some numerical based system we could use to refer to air temperature. Ford weather reports, "Today is cool for late June but warm if it was January"

With a temperature setting climate control system it does not make sense to not provide a temperature range for each setting (Warm, Medium, Cool).

I think the point of cool and warm are to super chill or super heat the cabin for if you wanted to go on a trip without using HVAC for extra range. They are pretty excessive IMO.

Is there a reason to not allow us to select a temperature?

Wait, is the cool and warm setting cooler and warmer respectively than LO and HI? Because I drive around in LO 365 days a year and it's just about adequate in the summer.

Ya I’d agree. I will only use those to prep for road trips now.

It can't be higher, or lower. Those are the max settings.

Here I am 7:40 am in end of August (summer) in SoCal and it's a beautiful 66°F outside with a high of 90° later today. Medium setting turned the seat heater on high! Very income, I do not want that. Why must every setting be extreme? I don't like this extra medium.
