So since I bought my used 21 GT I have been thinking about the PE for the MagneRide. So today I found out my dealership had one on the lot, so I went down to check it out. I've been wanting to see how the seats feel and try the ride. The seats are surprisingly comfortable, and the ride, compared to my 21 GT, is night and day! In mine I can feel and hear every single thing in the road, with the PE it was like driving a luxury car, so smooth. I even made the salesman come with me as I drive the same route in my GT so he could see how much difference there was, and he was shocked.

The one they had was a Space White. I only ever buy black, but gotta say, I am surprised how much I liked the Space White, it's really nice, might consider it. The one they had was a new 22 on sale for 62k, but I know the 22s still have the HVJB issues so I don't want to take the chance. They had a 23 black on black Pony Edition for 72k. Once that price drops to like 65-68 I might jump at it.

We have an Escape suspension on a vehicle that weighs similar to a Lincoln Navigator. It’s not perfect. I have a GTPE and the suspension issues noted by previous owners put me over the top on the decision from a GT. The difference is notable to me, but Magneride does not get the suspension to something approaching a luxury car. I do like the ability to change the behavior of the suspension with the drive mode. It is great to be able to dial it in based on how I feel right now. I think if I ended up with a CR1 I would be irritated with the suspension at that price point. I recognize the comparison is not a fair one, as I am comparing to an ICE car price. I had a Mazda Cx-9, which was similar in mass, but generally smoother and more compliant. I’m glad I was in a position to get Magneride. I do think it needs to be considered as an optional feature down range if Ford cannot address the suspension in other ways.

Check the manufacture date on the car. If it is a June 2022 or later build it should have the newer HVBJB. ??

Late 22 builds after June 22 have the newer part ( HV junction box) , so you can look into it

Newer, but still questionable. I know of a prem4x working on his 4th? Or 5th? HVBJB

What you get in ride, you lose in range. But from GT to PE isn’t a hit really.

Congrats! Enjoy your new ride! Watch for the tires that only last 10k because of continued application of the go pedal. I didn’t realize this would be a “problem” when I bought mine!

The HVBJB is a total crap-shoot for the earlier cars. The cars with the upgraded one are better off. There have still been failures of the new one, but nothing like the failures of the old one. If yours was manufactured in October of '22, then you should have the newer one and be less subject to a possible failure. ?‍♂?

You know, I have been through two failures of the old HVJB, I thought we only have seen 2-3 purported failures of the new version?

The HVJB issue has not gone away just because of a modified circuit board/contactors/ (several) software updates. There's nothing that says a mid-year '22 or newer won't have a HVJB issue. But the issue was supposedly affecting something like 1% of the total vehicles though (if I remember the stats correctly). I wouldn't place any emphasis on the HVJB when it comes to a decision on what to buy.

I view it as an opportunity to get more appropriate tires earlier than I would have.

Yeah, there were like 2 or 3 reported on the forum that weren't infant mortality issues (so that number doesn't include the couple of reported failures driving off the dealers' lots). Super low number, but there have still been failures. ?‍♂?
