All,
I'm brand new to the Mach E world, just got a 2023 Mach E GT with the long range battery. My question is what type of mileage range are you getting with a 100% charge. Mine is giving me about 264 miles on a 100% charge. Is that normal? Should I expect more? What are the rest of you getting with the GT and long range battery?

Dozens of threads about range.

It is a GUESS. You need to drive it a bunch for it to learn.

As with a gas vehicle, HOW you drive and WHERE you drive impact efficiency. Figure 2.7 miles per kW on the highway at 70 mph and see if that matches reality. 2.7 x 91 = 246 miles. In winter, knock 30% off that.

First 100% charge showed 284 but on starting dropped immediately to 274... Second 100% achieved 274 mi. range and dropped as advertised - not too bad. Problem is a terrific reduction in range due to attempting to get ahead of tailgaters - which is impossible without becoming one myself. Apparently in reading here, charging to 100% is not advised? The memory of lithium batteries was a concern but this experience is with model aircraft lithium ion batteries - probably not applicable to this car? Questions, questions... New experience here.

Manual tells you to charge to 90% for daily use.

With my 2022 premium, extended range, RWD I get about 295 when I occasionally charge to 100 %.
I normally charge to 90% and get about 280 just doing around town driving

I charge to 100% when I do charge and have has no ill effects whatsoever. If the life of the battery takes a hit so be it. I don't keep the car that long. I want the full range. Not 90%.

Our 'Ford Connected' charge station is not installed in the garage and no charge limit is set. We plug in the charger and walk away but usually keep track of the charge on FordPass. We are only into the second week of ownership so have a lot to learn about this vehicle! Ignorance is bliss!

I would be cautious regarding "91" in this calculation - battery reaches its listed capacity at around 80F, in lower temperature it is lower. I almost never see my standard range battery more than 66 kwh at 100%

Save charge location in vehicle, and set hours and limit.

You're new, so you have a lot to learn about how the range meter works. In short, the number you see varies from day to day and that's normal/fine. It DOES NOT mean your battery is going bad if you see a number less than EPA! That's just how it works, it accounts for differences in temp/weather/speed/driving style to display a personalized range estimate. Everybody's car displays something different.

Best to just ignore the range figure and focus on the % instead. You're like topic 150 on the range meter...

Also if you don't know, try to keep the battery below 90% for daily use per the Owner's manual.

FordPass keeps saying "try again later" anyhow. It's fun most of the time to live in the sticks but can occasionally cause gnarling of the teeth. I have read volumes on these batteries and their memory issues - turn a blind eye to their very rare self destruction - under extreme conditions, but FMC is quite vague about this MME as if they're giving away trade secrets. Experience and advice are what draws newcomers to forums like this - I still read considerably before joining. Many thanks to those sharing their experience...!

Everyone here has likely already figured all this out but …

1. It’s not uncommon for a person who buys their first EV to initially think the official EPA *range* advertised is similar to a long rope tied to the back of the car which has a fixed length and how quickly you drive does not matter. Then you learn outside temperature and speed driven (and other bits) *dramatically* alter the real range. And ultimately that this also was true for our past gasoline cars too.

2. Another frequent initial misconception is that the range displayed on the car’s screen is to some degree legitimate. Yet eventually you come to understand it would require the car to *know* where exactly and how exactly, e.g. speed + more, you shall drive today to be able to predict (guess) what range you might get. Thus quoting what your particular car guesses today, which it bases only on the peculiarities of how *you* have driven it in recent weeks/months, and how warm it is, or not, where you are these days, and then asking others to share what their car guessed today, is fine, but sadly not super related to the more interesting goal of comparing the real range different Mach-Es might be getting, as much as we would like it to be.
