Does anyone have suggestions for removing greasy finger smudges from sunscreen on the glossy black door pillars? I tried dawn liquid with warm soapy water but it really didn’t help.

The key to cleaning sunscreen stains is to use a degreaser. A household cleaner/degreaser such as 409 spray should do the trick.
Yep, this. For stubborn spots, you can use a "magic eraser" but I would be gentle (it's an abrasive) and test it somewhere inconspicuous first.

The black plastic is super sensitive to anything that would scratch. I wouldn’t use anything abrasive except maybe some super fine finishing polish. Try the degreaser first. I’m surprised
Dawn didn’t remove the prints. That would have been my first go to.

as mentioned a degreaser but it needs to be gentle. My go-to for an all purpose cleaner is Einszett Blitz. You can dilute it down to be stonger but it's otherwise a very safe and effective cleaner.

It smells great too. I got it for detailing and my wife found it and now uses it for literally everything.

No matter what you use it's going to scratch/swirl as the plastic is soft. Follow up with a gentle plastic polish or very fine finishing compound like Meguiars M205.

Well since I had isopropyl alcohol on hand I tried that this evening…and with a little elbow grease and reapplication it worked! It took about 10-15 minutes in the shade. Once I was done with the iso I wiped it down with water and a microfiber cloth. Thank you everyone for your suggestions!

Every vehicle that I've owned with black gloss a/b/c pillars I've applied PPF to. I'm not a big fan of PPF on the entire car due to the cost and the fact that I turn cars rather quick (2-3 years). But black gloss has a tendency to get swirl marks with normal washing. That drives me up the wall. So on my Audi, MME and Rivian it was the first thing I did. Because the MME has a lot more touch points that most cars on this black area I would highly recommend.

Here's the PPF kits for the MME: https://twraps.com/products/b-c-pillars-clear-protection-film-ppf-for-mustang-mach-e

I'm in no way affiliated with them, I just buy a lot from them.

How easy/hard would you say this is to apply without missing some areas or getting it on the windows? Let’s just say arts and crafts was never my thing at summer camp

Super easy. They supply a water bottle, fill it with water. Clean the pillar, spray the pillar with water from the water bottle, remove the backing from the PPF, spray the PPF side that goes to the car. The key to success is lots of water. Align it on the pillar and squeegee the water out. Maybe 5 minutes per pillar.

I think if you screw it up they'll even send you a new one.

If you screw it up really bad I'll be in OC in a couple months and would be more than happy to help.

I did mine a couple of years ago too and it was super easy....definitely better to apply in warm weather though mine took too long to have water evaporate out and left some wrinkles and bubbles but I was sent a new set without issue.

Super happy with mine...it self heals so even if there's a minor scratch from washing it works itself out and looks glossy every time I drive it.
