The sun shade is not my cup of tea. Then again, I don't like the sun shade on the current car either. Both are aero nightmares. I think the concept is interesting. It might make for a decent duck hunting Mach-E, but I'm not buying a whole 'nother car for that (hopefully that ugly wrap isn't concealing a glass roof). I wish they gave us in NA the stupid tow hook and luggage tie-downs to start with (does this even have them, or is it neutered in the cargo area like the NA MMEs?). I guess I'll go sign up to get notified about specs. ?‍♂?

EDIT: LOL I went to Ford's web site and can't find a blessed thing using their internal search. ??

Don't know, what we saw was a prototype back when Cyber Orange was available.
So have you seen other mach-e derivative prototypes, or was this like a one time focus group kinda deal?

Based on this it appears to be a Premium with mods, not a GT at all...
There’s no hope any longer…it’s now clear that the current gen is what it is, my GTPE is still fun tho. Next EV I get will have to be a real performance model, and unlikely to be a Ford.

It was a one time thing. Cannot talk about what we saw until after they are released publicly.
Since it’s released publicly………. Any details on the drivetrain and suspension?

On the InsideEVs podcast today they were suggesting:

1. The car at Goodwood was just the graphics package.
2. Powertrain is still under development.
3. Tom Moloughney has an interview with Ford discussing more details about the Mach-E Rally airing this week.

Nobody claimed to have inside info, but Tom has already done the interview I believe. IMO, if this was just a wheel and tire job, I don't think Ford would be sitting down with him but who knows.

Sad trombone……

“The Mach-E Rally is based on the standard, 346bhp all-wheel-drive car, and while the powertrain is understood to be little changed, the 4x4-inspired modifications are believed to be extensive enough to greatly enhance the EV's capability on the rough stuff.”

And where it came from???

“Palmer told Autocar the original idea came from a rallycross enthusiast in Ford's new 'Always On' team - created to constantly monitor feedback from customers and social media, which informs the development of over-the-air updates and model line additions.”

Uhhhhhh WTF???

Yeah, I would love to see the source material for where on “social media” people were asking for a NON performance offroad rally version.

A search of threads asking for this here before this week- zero results.

I got to see vehicles at an arms length away. Visual only, no questions no touching, phone put in a security bag.

I would not venture too far off road if they retain the 5” ground clearance of the regular Mach E.

Well, at least it won't have a 5 second limit on max power, just a low likelihood of a blown HVBJB. ??

Well, in response to those who think it not worth the time and effort for @Ford to offer a "Rally Inspired" version, re-read what its billed as, rally inspired not a true rally capable machine and even Ford states it "gravel Road" capable.
And if you believe there are no fans of Rally driving in the US, check out the American Rally Assocoation, they have been around a long time and even sponsored by the premier US rally driving school "Dirtfish".
Rally racing in the US has always been popular and Subaru even offered a Colin Macrae inspired 555 paint scheme on their WRX years ago.
Now the big question...do I want one? most definitly if I was 20 years younger but for now I'm happy with my Premium 4x blowing the doors off of snot nosed kids who think I just an old man in an SUV!

They can prove us (the target audience of Mach E drivers) wrong pretty easily based on sales numbers.

I reserve the right to be wrong, but I don’t think I’ll be seeing many of these on the road.

I had to google that 555 reference you made.

Apparently Subaru only ever sold a few hundred and none in the USA. (Unless I missed it somewhere). But either way, not exactly a success story.
