Say hi to Calvin for us!!
I live at 4400 ft, it should be in the low 60s right now. It’s 78. Humidity is 80%. And to top it all off … NOAA is being obstinate, the next hurricane in sequence will not be named Hobbes. Spoil sports.

It’s passing well offshore to the southwest btw.

I have very few complaints with my Premium but the auto-opening hatch is one. I ended up disabling it after it opened into my garage door and caused $800 in damage to the paint in the form of a huge scratch up the tailgate. Fortunately, Ford warranty folks comp'ed the repairs Including a loaner car but if left that feature turned off since then. (I also attached foam “bumpers” to the hinges on my garage door just In something re-enables it!)

No car, battery electric or otherwise, is for everyone. Cars are hella expensive, if you don't love or even like what you drive you should not keep it. Sorry to see you go Andy but am very glad you are sticking with a BEV. Thank you for all the time you put into your forum contributions.

I guess there’s a range of experiences. Zero issues with my ‘22 GT-PE after 7 months and 7,000 miles (except software update glitches), tailgate has never opened unexpectedly, and for driving within speed limits the 5-sec limit is rarely a constraint. And the MME just looks so much better than the Kia. And it’s an American car company (yes, I know they’re made in Mexico). Will happily stick with the MME.

I didn’t know about his channel. I’ll follow him now as he’s got a good way of conversing with his audience. Good video. I can acknowledge and appreciate why he decided to get rid of the car because he really seems to have been dealt a shitty hand.

However, I think what he is describing is a very very rare situation a buyer would experience.

First off, the whole 5 second boost cap thing, while real, won’t affect most people. Yes, Ford should have been upfront about it. I can tell you that even if they told me that, I’d have still bought the car. If you floor the car, in under 6 seconds you’ll be reaching speeds most shouldn’t drive at unless they’re a trained track driver and driving on a track. This is not meant to be a race car. This is a “grand touring” SUV, a trim typically means top tier for style AND performance. Technically, it does perform better than all other Mach E trims when accelerating but then it trails off (does not decelerate - accelerates slower) after ~80 mph to manage heat and battery longevity because well, Ford cut corners. I get it.

Again, Ford didn’t explicitly state this limitation, and that’s completely on them. But that isn’t a deal breaker for me. I bought the Mach E EV to have some fun, to skip Tesla, to experience something different, and I bought the GTPE because I like being able to go from 0-80 mph in 5 seconds (and then stay at that speed 99% times), I like the cushy floaty suspension, the big red brakes, and the sporty bucket seats. I wish it had closer to 300 mile range vs 260, but that’s besides the point.

I would not be selling my car for this boost cap reason and I feel like this is blown out of proportion on this forum.

Future buyers can make their own decision but there’s always the cheaper Premium or CR1 trim (more range and no boost cap) to choose from. You’ll lose a full second of 0-60 time, bucket seats, air cooled red brembo brakes, and magneride adaptive suspension. Heck there’s even cheaper RWDs available for mid $30k. So if range is the most important factor for you, then absolutely stay away from GT and GTPE trims. Get CR1 AWD with extended battery.
HVBJB: Again, I will not be selling my car for this (known) issue. Yes, Ford is at fault here. And I may be jinxing my car lol, but I haven’t seen it happen on my car yet. But I am going to withhold my judgment. If enough cars show this issue, it won’t be long before someone sues, and Ford will issue a proper recall instead of hiding behind idiotic software fixes and just swap out the damn thing instead of a software fix. A recall is independent of warranty.

Failing frunk and trunk: this is really annoying if Ford isn’t able to fix it once and for all (I have my doubts that this is true but I want to trust him), and knowing myself - this is truly something that I would absolutely sell the car for, if it starts happening with mine, but not before I raise hell for Ford to buy the car back. That is just unacceptable. Really sorry to hear that that he had to sell the vehicle for that because in the 22 minute video, this is truly the only “issue” that I heard about. I’m surprised he didn’t go legal route for a lemon. I guess he didn’t want to deal with the hassle and that’s fair.

All in all, it’s a good video and I sympathize with his experience but I’m going on a limb here and say that after the trunk frunk issue, he simply didn’t want to keep the car and had made up his mind. The other “stuff” just helped him cross the line.

Totally unjustified in my opinion.

That said, the end of the video was my facepalm moment…I wish him luck with his Kia because he’s going to need it.

This ^^^^

I doubt a lot of people would find my Blazer to their liking. Although it was optioned with roll-up windows and a roof, it has no interior insulation, making it very loud inside when the roof is on. It’s got a manual tranny and no A/C. Oh, and it gets 9 city/15 highway. ?‍♂?

I too have reached the limits of my patience. My car is on it's 3rd HVJB. My car has been in the shop for a total of 5 months in the 2 years I've owned it. I'm outside the lemon law for Oregon, but I'm hoping that @Ford Motor Company will make this right by buying back the car. And having me get a 2023. I'm going to assume (hopefully) that 2023's are better built and I just got a lemon. It is a 2021 job 1 car, so I get that there is going to be issues. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mach-E. I just can't rely on it. My wife refuses to even go on road trips in it because it broke on us on a hot day.

I think the magnuson-moss act might apply here. But I really don't want to get lawyers involved.

This is the sentiment by many people here. I love driving, and do a lot of it (30k a year), but when I get in I want to enjoy my drive, not worry about the car. That takes something, that some people love doing, and turns it around 360.

As for Lemon Law - Most states only require that the first repair happen within the time frame. Subsequent repairs can fall outside of that time frame and it will still qualify. Call them and ask. Since they only get paid if it's successful they will screen your case and only accept ones they think they can win. Can't hurt to give some of them a call.

I truly sympathize with you. If I had $20k lying around, I’d go car shopping with you (it’s the loss you’re going to witness when you sell your MME so I’d give you the $20k and make a new friend while at it) and we will come back in your new ride and you’ll begin fixing my landscaping in return ;)

What is a 2021 “job 1” car? What is your car’s in service date? I have a 2021 MME GTPE manufactured in late October 2021 (somehow they didn’t sell it as a 2022). Just trying to understand my odds here lol.

My car was made in December 2020, I got it July 3rd 2021.

2021 Job 1 cars can be identified by the lack of electronic frunk actuation and/or the built-in frunk separators. They were manufactured before early July of 2021. All GTs are 2021 Job 2 cars or later. My GT-PE was manufactured in October of 2021 (scheduled for late September and delayed a couple of times). 2021s were manufactured into late November of 2021, some not delivered until April of 2022. ??

EDIT: Corrected June 2021 to July 2021.

You must not have the wind noise problem or you would have said something. I hate the wind noise. My Mach-e is louder then my fusion because of the wind noise. I shouldn't have to add weather strip myself. Ford need to fix the problem. Also you should have mentioned the $800 for BC is another reason to trade the car.
