Hey everyone! I am a new MME owner, new to the forum and THIS is my first post!! I purchased a 2023 GT (Standard/Non-Performance) this week and noticed that the frunk had a slightly different design compared to other Mach-E's I looked at. The key differences are that there are raised ridges on the bottom, two drainage ports and, if you look at the upper rear portion of the well, you'll see two gaps that look like a place to attach an accessory.

FYI - The build date on my car is 06/06/2023

I'd be interested to hear if anyone knows what these are for?

Those slots at the top are probably intended for various things - if Maverick is a guide, they have a slot configration like that where Ford, 3rd parties and even customers with 3D printers have created things to snap in - cupholders, cargo straps, grocery bag hooks... etc.

A shame they didn't create an access to the 12v battery.
absolutely agree. I really wish they would have added a little access door similar to what they already have for access to the headlight connector (which no one really ever needs to access, ironically enough)

interesting it doesn't appear to have the "lower back wall" anchor points that the current ones have anymore too

Curious to see if that would work with the two drains. Might be some changes to tubing there too. Definitely post if you're able to do it.

We picked up our 23 Premium a month ago and it has the same Frunk. I believe ours was an April 23 build.

I'll be curious to see if mine has this new frunk tub. Picking my 2023 Vapor Blue Metallic, Premium, MME up tomorrow morning! Super excited!
It was changed for 2023. There's no reason to believe every 2023 doesn't have the new design.
