Good to know. I usually refers to this post to see what can be OTA updated and how.
Yeah, that list has not proven to be entirely accurate. I remember Darren Palmer saying a while back that the GSM module could be updated OTA even though the list shows it can't. Of course, we haven't gotten a GSM update OTA, so we don't really know if that one's true or not. This ACM update may be the first one to release OTA that's in disagreement with the list.

What is interesting is this chart (directly from Ford) says no but obviously it is because it updated on my car last night. I'm going to see if they have revised this list...
Nice! Maybe the car has more functionality than we thought.

Yeah so I just looked again and it still shows ACM is a NO for OTA updatable. Obviously they haven't updated this article. Maybe it wasn't updatable at first but through various GWM updates they've found a way to update it, not sure. I checked for 2023 model year too and it is the exact same list. Classic Ford.

Well good job Ford, they figured out how to OTA a module that wasn’t supposed to be OTAable.

Or the service manual was just wrong the whole time…

This car gets better everyday! I was talking to a friend last night who got an EV6 same time I got my MME. He said now he thinks he made the wrong choice. His quote was "Ford seems like the only one truely in the game and competing with Tesla" specifically about software updates, NCAS charging, but then he also regretted the smaller size and a few other items.

Well it looks like I am back on the failed update train again.

2021 Job 2 in EA. This hit for me yesterday and failed to update twice. I drove the 25 miles to work and fast charged. Tried to update it after the fast charge and it failed twice again. I am really hoping my 12v hasn't failed for the second time (I had it replaced about 4 months ago because it wasn't hitting SOC). When I get home tonight I am going to let it run for the evening and see if I can get it to install then. Bad luck I guess...

*EDIT*
The last 3 updates since the switch out of the 12v have been successful.

You are one of the lucky ones. Mine seems to get worse with every OTA. Mine has had many things that it came with removed and NOT replaced.

What are a couple examples of features removed? I miss the big tiles, because I like the tire pressure to be constantly visible.

Other than that, and maybe a few new bugs, the car is notably better than when I purchased it new. I have come to especially like the automatic parking brake when turning off the car or putting it in park. I never realized how annoying the rocking was until it stopped.

His is black, and it looks better than the other colors, but yeah not as good as the MME. This thing still gets so much attention.

In my view, overall the car is better than when I bought it. There are always exceptions aren't there...

The profile doesn't randomly switch to Guest, but it doesn't figure out who the drive is either. If I select the seat position it switches profiles just fine... It used to select profiles based on which PAAK or Fob opened the car. Somewhere along the way it lost that association. I need to see if I can figure it out or if this is now universally gone.

Your 12V is at 85% SoC, maybe it wants >90%.

Your battery isn't bad, just takes a long time to fully charge. Like 3+ hours.

Would you recommend I leave it running for 4 or 5 hours when I get home tonight to try and get it to the 90? Thank you for the tips.

I checked to see if it made any fixes to my issues, but no.
  • You still cannot permanently disable alarm interior motion sensors, even though there is a setting to do just that. They re-enable after every key cycle.
  • When you tap “max defrost” once, it turns on. When you tap that button a second time, instead of turning off, the HVAC goes to Auto Medium. Why?
  • Ford still has not enabled electronic frunk access for 2021 J1s despite us having the same frunk latch actuator as everyone else.
  • You have to tap into Settings to open the Trunk from inside the
  • At top left of the Home Screen there is a clip art house button to open the app tray (which Ford sometimes refers to as the Home Screen even though it is not a Home Screen - it is not the screen that comes up default, it is an app tray.
It does appear that Ford has now fixed the remote start to guest profile bug, but evidently this happened sometime ago - it was never in any release notes.
Just so anyone from Ford with the power to do something about it stumble across your post: these all day-1 bugs yet to be addressed.
