So...this happened last night to our 2022 Star White Premium eAWD. A pole jumped right behind the car in a small very busy and hectic restaurant parking lot. Not a valet issue, driver's fault. I wasn't driving...I wasn't even there. Sigh. As far as I can tell it's "only" cosmetic.

In any case we'll be going in for estimates this week...curious on any cost speculation. Feels like ability to shape back the metal massive rear quarter panel will be a big factor.

I don't think you will be able to smooth out the metal. The rear quarter panel will likely need to be replaced along with the taillight assembly and the bumper cover. I would be surprised if it came in under $2k.

Cost for the tail light is $800-$900 USD.

yeah you’re probably right. I definitely don’t have any expectations of it costing anything close to 2k. I’m assuming significantly more than that.

? that looks similar to the damage my car suffered when it was attacked by the parking bollard! Good luck with the repairs.

I don’t think the light is damaged. Just the cover. Or is it an assembly that has to be entirely replaced?
The entire light assembly will have to be replaced. They’re integrated.

I knocked my wife’s bike over and it put a small dent in my door. $1,300 to fix. I am just going to let it be as always a chance someone will slide into me one of the winters as our roads are icy for 6 months. My guess is closer to $3k

Ouch. Bummer. ??

Two panels (quarter panel, bumper cover), plus the tail light. $12K or more. More if there are any sensors that are damaged. ??

Parts seem to be 2500ish msrp. Not sure how labor and paint would be 10k.

That stinks.

I wonder if the reverse collision automatic braking just can’t see something small like a pole.

Mine has definitely gone off with larger objects or even things that aren’t thick (small palm fronds that hang out to the back of the car but wouldn’t damage it).
