these Tesla feature and other neat features will not be in the MME until Ford takes the SW in-house for the entire car.

I just rode in a Model y and saw how theirs works. It does show cars beside and behind, which could be useful. My Rivian has this, but it only shows vehicles ahead of me, which is completely useless, since I am always looking forward anyway.

To be honest, this display is annoying and distracting, if I had an off switch in the Rivian I would definitely turn it off. The vehicles on that display are jumping all over the place and flashing on and off, which makes it very distracting.

I find the blind spot lights on the MME mirrors to work very well by themselves. For some reason, on the Rivian, those same lights are not nearly as noticeable as on the MME, but they do have a yellow indicator on the driver display for blind spot detection.

I have no use for a green/red light detector, that is what my eyes are for. And for anyone who lives in Phoenix, you know that checking cross traffic for red light runners is a must before taking off at a green light.

Oh! I have something similar on my car! There’s a highly-sophisticated processor (I believe it may leverage a form of neural network technology) that uses sophisticated optical sensors and image processing to monitor the external environment. These sensors are exposed to the external environment using this miracle technology commonly called “glass”. ???
At first I thought you were describing my wife! I know instantly when the light changes when she is riding with me.

Sadly that dinging for a green light is because EVERYONE seems to just stare at their phone at stop lights. I dont think this is an issue for Mach-Es cause we LOVE driving so much we are watching for the other direction to turn yellow, so we can jump on the throttle and race off. I mean if I was accidently staring at my phone I might miss some ICE driver trying to race and then would be embarrassed to lose.

That is now illegal in Michigan (playing with phone at stoplight).

Lol! This reminds me of a story of a friend of mine. When he was younger, he was a pretty arrogant … twit. Anyway, one of the things he took pleasure in, while driving in center city (Philadelphia), was honking at the person ahead of him AS SOON AS THE LIGHT CHANGED! He would have his hand sitting on the horn and the moment the light went to green, he laid in on the horn. Not a tap, or a beep, but a very prolonged HONK. So, he did this one time and, instead of the car in front moving like a scared rabbit, the driver’s door opened, and a very large, imposing lady got out (and she was LARGE! She could probably pick up my Mustang Mach E and move it with her pinky). She marches over to my friend’s window and begins yelling at him. She wanted to know why a skinny little boy thought he could behave that way (her language was much more colorful and totally inappropriate for a public forum). Finally, after two light cycling of berating everything about my friend, from his pasty white skin, to his skinny, diminutive figure, she marched back to her car, and drove off. We still kid my friend about that situation ???

Its been illegal in Mass for years I think, it doesnt help. Its honestly why I sold my motorcycle. I LOVED to ride in Maine, winding country roads. In Mass it was just drivers with their head in their phone and I knew I would be run over at a stop light, I sold my bike a few years after moving here.

Riding as a passenger in a Tesla, both were a neat toy to watch.

As a driver- both are useless and just take your eyes off the road.

I use my eyes to see when the light goes green and the cars next to me. Not sure why brand T likes to add features that encourage the driver to pay less attention.
Yeah, kinda dumb to put a light monitor and reminder on a vehicle isn't it? I mean seriously, I have never ever been behind someone at a light and had to honk the horn to let them know the light is green now! ?

Bingo, cell phone laws are almost impossible to enforce.

My Boss has a Tesla, not sure of the exact model.
The Tesla has an option to beep and let you know the traffic lights have changed. Additionally, the main display shows you an image of cars on either side of you, while driving.

I do wish the MachE had these features, too. Thoughts...
Tesla has a red/green light chime (all do now - it was part of FSD and EAP only in the past) and Hyundai has a "car in front of you is moving ahead" warning. Both are cool.

I'd like either on the Mach-E.

Actually... the biggest one is Hyundai/Kia's lane centering EVERYWHERE. I find I am missing that on my Rivian - which wallows around too much.

The dumb part is creating features that encourage the driver NOT to pay attention.

FWIW, green doesn’t mean “go.” It means proceed with caution. You need to be paying attention to more than just the color of the light. And that is something your car doesn’t do for you.

I would prefer LESS idiots looking down not paying attention and relying on their car to tell them when to go, not more.

Safety features should help you be safer, not encourage you to be less safe.

This is a toy, not a safety feature.

Good points.
