Of course nobody who’s gotten this update has reported their Sync version yet. So we don’t know.
Sync 980 now.

Couple of other changes I noticed.

Carplay is super unstable for me so far. I couldn't get it to connect the first 2 times I drove the car. Had to reboot my iPhone 15 Pro before it would connect. Then this morning it would randomly disconnect right in the middle of driving with GPS directions and then reconnect after a minute or so. This happened twice on the drive.

Also noticed a new sound. When I got too close to the car in front of me in a parking lot the beeping sound was different.

I also see the extra black pixels on top of car play and the new voice feedback icon in the apps section.

It’s super sudtle. Probably just a few pixels. the way I could tell is in CarPlay. The black border is thicker on top than bottom now. (By like 5-10 pixels) so that’s how I noticed it.
I will have to see if I can find before and after Android Auto photos, but here are before and after Software Version photos where I see no difference.

By reading this board you would think the purpose of EA is to give everyone advance notice of how bad the next update is and make fun of the update notes. I wonder what percentage of people complaining actually gave Ford feedback before running to a message forum?
I'm sure they are closely monitoring feedback on this very forum. If they aren't, they are missing a big opportunity.

They do, and it’s not just the few (semi) known Ford employees and the official presence.

As for any EA NDA, perhaps someone a bit more ambitious than me at this early hour (UTC -10) can pull up the most recent agreement and post it in all its glory. Then we can all see whether any, some, or all of us are violating any, some, or none if it.

EDIT: Or just maybe we can go back to arguing about things that really matter — like whether we got the wrong battery, the GOM, or why I still don’t have a remote frunk release. ;)

Pretty sure it's one of the required BlueCruise updates. 6.x will be the BlueCruise 1.3 series. So far we've had GWM (6.1) and APIM (6.2) updates, TCU will probably be next, and then we can finally get to actual driving software.
Ah okay, so probably another 3 weeks before BlueCruise 1.3?

That is actually a known issue with iPhone 15 Pros and CarPlay right now. Apple is working on a fix. Some say iOS 17.0.3 fixes it, others say iOS 17.1 will fix it. No word on what build will have the official fix though.

Probably a couple more months at this pace before we have BC 1.3 functionality.

Last time BC 1.0 was added it was 6-7 OTA updates. So far we’ve had 2 updates towards BC 1.3. Which means we probably have 4-5 more BC 1.3 updates coming. At two weeks per update you’re looking at 2+ months before BC 1.3 is fully done.

That is unless the pace of BC 1.3 updates increases to match the pace we had with BC 1.0, where at the end I was getting an OTA every day for the last 4-5 updates.

I started experiencing this issue last week when I updated to iOS 17.1 beta 1. As you said, It is not an issue on Ford's side but on Apple's side.
