It should definitely be above 80% after two hours of driving. Wondering if you’re getting wake up drains throwing off the BMS. Do you use any 3rd party apps that access vehicle data like Recurrent? Or park at night with the key fobs or phone closer than 25’ to the car? Welcome lighting on?
You definitely have me thinking about this... parts of my home are right above my garage and checking my phone, it seems thatI have a PaaK connection to the car just moving about the home. Walking around the house maybe I'm triggering those connections more often that I really want to.

You may want to disable FordPass from running in the background. On an iPhone, going to the OS settings for FordPass and change the location setting to “while using” instead of “always allow”. Then quit the app. You will have to remember to open FordPass before PAAK will work, and quit the app when you get home.

I don’t have exact steps for android, but the process would probably be similar.

You ever solve your issue, OP? I think I'm starting to have similar-ish issues and I can't figure out why my battery is dropping so much overnight even while it's plugged in.

I took the car to the dealership for half day. All they did was software updates and put it on a trickle charger. They asked me to watch over it.

After the trickle charger the 12v SOC was at 70%. 3 days later with about 30-40km driving per day the SOC was 42%. ?

I think I’m due for a 12v battery replacement…

Oof. I just got back to back to back updates on my car so I'm hoping that will help. I don't think I've gotten down to the 40s yet though. Here's hoping you can figure out your problem as painlessly as possible from here on out.

They hooked up the charger wrong or you need to reset the BMS.

The SOC of the 12v battery will swing widely day to day since it is such a small capacity. with some drive-time or 'on' time, it *should* recover to full. I would:

- get a little 12v meter to stick in a power port so you can see 12v voltage.
- when the car has been OFF for a while, you will note this voltage also goes OFF. If you open the door, but don't turn the car on, the voltage should be > 12.1v, probably between 12.4-12.8.
- turn the car ON.... voltage should jump to >14.5v as the internal dc-dc will begin charging the 12v battery
- go to settings , and disable 'auto-off'... leave the car ON
- leave the car on for hours... even overnight
- turn car off, the 12v voltage will likely settle down from 14+ to 12.8-13.0, which is 'full' for the little 12v - AGM

dropping to what voltage ?
do you have any aftermarket anything pulling 12v power while car is off?

as long as it is >12.1 before you turn car ON, and it charges while car is ON , you are fine.

I've had it get down to the high 11s. No aftermarket anything in the car. But the welcome lights and stuff are on when I'm checking that voltage so I've given it a bit of leeway. It has been charging while the car is on though.

I had covid early october and wasn't driving anywhere for a week while I recovered so I'm thinking that may have just got everything a bit lower than usual. Plus I came outside the other day to see I had the headlight glitch where they stay on even when in auto. That's what made me check the voltage in the first place. At this point I'm just keeping an eye on things but I figured if someone else was like "oh yea this is a common issue do X Y and Z to fix it" I'd take advantage.

hhhmmmm, 'high 11s' is not great.... pretty hard on an AGM battery. The on-board systems are supposed to notice when it hits 12.1, wake up and charge it. You *should* be seeing the AGM 12.4v-12.8v most of the time when it's off.

It's possible that your MME is not 'sleeping well' if you park within Bluetooth range and walk in and out of range multiple times during the day or night. Every time it wakes up and stays awake for 10 minutes, it hits the 12v battery. You might want to try turning BT off on your phone while at home to see if your ME sleeps better .

Yea I've been experimenting with closing out FordPass the last few days. Going to see how that goes.

Yes, quit FordPass or disable Bluetooth on your phone so the car doesn't get woken up. Keep the fobs away from it too. And try charge the car as long as possible. You can follow some of the procedures in this topic if you want to try to charge it up all the way.

I am wondering if something either happened to my 12V battery or if the car's 12V calibration got messed up when I had my car in for the HVBJB replacement in late Oct. I previously regularly saw it over 80% and up to 90%, but now it seems to quickly charge from the 50s% or 60s% to 75% while driving, but then is just barely goes up from there to 76% or 77% but no more, even after a 30-45 minutes drive.

I think I'll disconnect the 12V battery and put it on a charger then reinstall it and see what the Mach-E says, unless I get better advice here (love the advice on these forums!).

I'm not sure why it's so different now than before the service. Did they mis-calibrate the 12V SoC algorithm during the service?

I've only had the car for 19 months and ~33,500 miles.

I don't use Phone as key. I use Ford pass to check car status and to remote start. I have the system off to save battery messages. The battery failed charging test and it was swapped out under the warranty. The car was days to one year anniversary when I dropped it off at the dealership.
