Just got the update today (the more vague release notes version, lol). Will see if I run into any issues being reported in this thread like the intermittent greyed out drive modes.

Apologies if someone already noted this: I got this yesterday afternoon, but the message is different than OPs. It says,

"WHAT'S IN THIS UPDATE?

Ford Power-Up 6.1.0

Minor Updates
Some minor fine-tuning to keep everything running smoothly.

Ford Power-Up delivers software updates... etc."
Got this version (with these notes) last night on my 23

Got the update last night. This morning Apple Car Play froze while driving to work. The other options on the screen (Radio, Navigation, etc.) seemed a bit laggy. Will try it again shortly to see if the Car Play issue was an anomaly or if it is related to the update. Fingers crossed!

Interesting, 6.1.0 with the reduced notes seems to also have reduced payload, compared to the OP.

It seems to have updated the same Target Identifiers as 5.1.1.

So it looks like we have two versions of 6.1.0?
Edit: Top in pic is 6.1.0, bottom is 5.1.1 showing that the same Target Identifiers were updated.

The OP has the same base part numbers as my car as they are both 2021. Your 2023 has different part numbers.

Also the first block in your post is a later date than the second one, so the size increased. I had an GWM update in August that I applied via FDRS and is likely PowerUp 5.1.1 (your second block). I got PowerUp 6.1.0 on October 10th (your first block).

Hey, yeah that's my bad. I didn't make it clear in my post that I was showing the comparison of 6.1.0 (top) vs 5.1.1 (bottom). It's interesting that for this one they changed the release notes for the trimmed down one (mine) vs. others (OP). They didn't do that for 5.1.1.

5.1.1 added a feature, preconditioning. I would expect the 5.1.1 release notes for all years to be similar.

I would think Ford would mention the BlueCruise Map Update for 6.1.0 on the MME as they did for the Lightning. The MME got one as well. Otherwise it seems a bug fix release. The 2021 and 2023 GWM firmware have different part numbers, so I expect they have separate build, QA, and release paths. It would not be unusual for 6.1.0 of each MY to have slightly different sets of changes. 2021 cars may need more of those "Smart Changes" than 2023 cars. It could be different persons with slightly different writing style wrote the notes.

Some companies do not like to enumerate bug fixes in public other than a generic message. The internal release notes will likely list all the bug fixes, but this usually gets heavily edited by the marketing department.

Although it is frustrating not knowing what is fixed, at least our cars are getting new features and bug fixes.

Randomly driving and then drive mode changed on me. Saw drive mode unavailable on screen. Car launched off all of the sudden and almost rear ending a car. It went from unbridled where it was auto slowing down for a red light to sustained speeds of whisper.
Afterwards I could not select a drive mode and the modes were black.

I have convinced myself that it is not necessarily accelerating, but the change in throttle response is so striking that you have to slam on the brakes to make up for the sudden and unexpected regen loss. I will endorse the sudden sense of panic that accompanies this. I already dislike the regen feel in Whisper. This just reminds me of how much I dislike it.

That’s happened to me 3 times since getting this update. In 2 years and 8 months I never saw “Drive mode unavailable” once. Now 3 times in just a few days.
You're not alone on that. It was scary when I hit the button to disengage the cruse for a turn and the car accelerated instead. It had to self-disengage just before I hit the button for it to re-engage.
