I imported a new Mach E4 Premium from the UK to the Seychelles where I live.
Since day one, I have not been able to get any OTA updates despite being connected to the internet via WiFi.
It is still on Sync Version 411 five months later after getting it. When I scan for updates, it says the software is up to date.
Any ideas how to get the OTA updates working? Thank you.

Only one: bug a mongoose plus adapter, a fast usb flash drive, and a good battery maintainer/charger (or two mediocre ones), get an FDRS license for a weekend and update your MME yourself. Just look up the thread here on DIY FDRS.

Thanks. For your advice. I’m doing this. Will report back on how it goes.
Do I need a battery charger or can I just leave the Mach E plugged in to the EV charger?

Need to keep the 12v (small battery) charged during some updates.

Okay. Got one producing 13.8V at 10A. Hopefully should be adequate.

Ummm... maybe, maybe not. Depends on the particular update.

Here is a direct quote;
"A 12 Volt Power Supply
Some updates can take over an hour. During these updates the car will not be maintaining the little baby 12v battery the Mach E comes equipped with. If the battery goes kaput during the update, the update goes kaput as well. Since we're not in the business of making bricks here you need a power supply to keep this from happening. Mind you I said "power supply" not "battery charger". I didn't measure, but I hear the car can draw upwards of 30A during the updates.

I DO NOT recommend doing what I did, but I'm overly cheap sometimes. I happen to have a gigantic RV battery just sitting around for another project, so I ran jumpers to the RV battery to assist. It did the job just fine.

10A will not keep up. Suggest a minimum of a Clore PL2320.

So here's a question...since you relocated the car out of the area it was purchased in do you have any warranty coverage at all?

Are there Ford dealers where the car is now?

The car's TCU modem is probably looking to connect to the Vodaphone network it was likely originally provisioned on.

If there is a Ford dealer there somewhere they should be able to reprovision your TCU for whatever network Ford has an agreement with in your new location.

Many US based military members have the same issue when they take their US Ford vehicle to places like Germany. Getting the the TCU re-provisioned is the only way to sort that out.

Hi Mike G,
Yes I have warranty support here for my MME.
The local dealer does not support the Mach E here yet.
I've ordered a Mongoose Plus adapter and 20A battery charger unit and will do the FDRS update next week hopefully. Will keep this post updated.
Thank you and all the others for your very kind assistance.
