Yes, I know there is a thread on being stuck on 6.1.0 for MY21, but when I posted in there about my MY23.0, I got (jokingly) flamed. Any MY23.0s past 6.1.0?

Hanging out on 6.2.0 in my 2023 CR1 for the past month. On the plus side, at least we have BlueCruise 1.2 while waiting for 1.3.

MY 22 and I haven’t even received any 6.X yet. I have found that most of my OTA’s come at the end so not concerned and I don’t have BC. Or maybe it takes electrons longer to travel to Alaska.

I have a MY22 and I am stuck on 6.1.0 with the messaging stating “Not Complete!” Seems like 6.1.0 tried to download and failed and has not tried again for the past month.

What may add to confusion which updates are currently limited to cars in Early Access vs. others.

Also, we've learned from Ford that even when they are releasing updates (whether limited to Early Access or being released to other cars) they do this in batches or "waves".

When releasing software that a developer believes is ready ... it's amazing how people start to find bugs when the software is deployed in large scale -- due to the extremely broad numbers of unique circumstances that the developer couldn't possible test for.

Doing releases in batches allows them to make sure the software really _is_ solid and ready for broad distribution.

Unfortunately we do not have visibility into the deployment to know when software is being released in limited batches vs. broadly available.

We have also learned that cars ONLY check for updates when they are on. A parked car wont check-in with the servers to see if there are updates. If you don't use the car for a number of days it wont get any updates even there are updates available specifically to your VIN number (e.g. your car is included in the "batch").

It would be nice if there was a way we could check to see if updates are queued for our cars. If I've got no updates queued, then I know there's nothing specifically wrong with my car (nothing I need to do). But if there are updates queued, I know I'd need to make sure I use the car to get the car to notice them and start downloading.

Does it only check for and download updates while "on" as in ignition on? Mine has been stuck at 6.2.1 not complete since 11/22. I've driven it about 3-4 hours total since the 22nd, also left it "on" (ignition on) sitting in my garage for 8+ hours connected to wifi and L2 charger. No change.

In my BMW's there's a button to "Check for updates" in the infotainment that will go out and search for OTA updates. You can also download updates in the BMW app on the phone and then transfer it from the phone to the car to install. Wish Ford can do something similar.

It's not free, in fact it is rather expensive, but anyone can buy a subscription that gets you access to the very information you describe above.

It is my understanding that it won't use the WiFi network to check for updates due to the risk of a man-in-the-middle attack. It will only check via it's own connection to the AT&T network.

Odd, I could've sworn I read somewhere (either in the manual or on screen info) that connecting to wifi will speed up download of OTA updates.

The manual, etc, definitely says that, and people have also said here in the forums that they can see when a download is happening to the MME on their home router, so it is hard to know which is true.

It does not need to be in drive. I believe that updates might require that no charging is taking place.

Yesterday I started my car, got a call that required me to go back in the house, left the car running, never put it in reverse, and when I came back out there was a message on the screen that Sync was updating.

I was getting the 6.2.0 rerelease.

I've been monitoring my router the last 6 days for traffic from the MME. It's only done 5-6 MB of total traffic. Seems to be too little for an OTA update.

I wasn't saying be in "D". I was asking if the "Ignition" needs to be "On".
