I installed the Viofo A139 Pro camera following a video I found on YouTube. When installing the rear camera, the person in the video recommended to pass the cable through a cable conduct that is protected with tight seals. After a bit of work I managed to pass the rear camera cable, but then I could not put back the weather seals as they were initially. I am wondering whether I need some special tool to do this?
This is the photo:

I ended up with a similar situation.

To get it put back on properly I just had to fiddle with it until it was back on. It was tough getting it stretched since the material is not that stretchy. I hooked it on the back first and then just worked it with my hands.

I remember thinking I would never get it back on and then all of a sudden it was back on.

I wonder if you would have more luck in the summer? Might try heating it with a hair dryer to make it more pliable.

Great to know that it’s possible without taking it to Ford. I think I should be doing this soon, since it may be a bad idea to leave it like this for long.

As I thought about it more, I remember I ended up removing the white piece in your picture from the hatch, then attaching it to the boot and pushing it back in.

Getting the piece out was a matter of figuring out the right place to squeeze so it would release.

I remember removing the part that clips into the hatch. There were several pressure points that had to be released to get it out. Then it was easy to reattach the boot to the part removed and finally just push it back in.

I was wondering, did you pull with a lot of strength to release the white rings or did you move them back and forth till they came out?

I think I ended up prying at it with a plastic panel tool. Once it was out it was very obvious where if pressure had been applied it would have come out easily.

I was not necessarily applying pressure in the right places though and still managed to get it out without breaking the clips.
