Whenever I drive I use my iPhone dash cam app. And I caught one guy ran a red light right before I entered an intersection less than a week into my ownership. It could have been totaled my brand new Mach e if I had been just a couple of seconds faster. That made me ask my wife run the dash cam app wherever she drives, but she never bothers. Hey, women, you can’t live with them you can’t shoot them. What I can do is to install a real dash cam for her, what else can you do?

So got this from temu share.temu.com/YG8qycz3YeA,
I bought the power cord it uses as an extra but it discontinued soon after.

First, pull down the cover above the rear view mirror, use your fingers pull it along its edge.

Then tapthe red acc wire of the dash cam into the rain sensor terminal, the yellow battery wire into whatever the socket which has 12v as long as the power is on, the black ground wire to the first left wire

then fasten the power cord on the ceiling, put the cover back, stick the cam on the cover in front of the mirror. As long as Mack e power switch off there is no current goes to the cam. The quality of the cam wasn’t bad.

Now I can live with my wife better.

They sure make the wiring easier but two things here: firstly the dash cam wires have no plug but only plain wires. I only needed to solder the end of wires to make it tougher to insert into the male plug to make a good contact, secondly, there is not much room for more plugs.

Twisting the wires and shoving them into the connectors with strands everywhere is a really poor way of wiring something in. If any of those strands touch you could get a short circuit. It's also not a reliable connection, so it may stop working.

I'd strongly recommend you use a legit way of wiring in a dashcam with a T-splice or a hardness adapter.

The photos shown were not the final tap. The final result are not the best but are much secured than what they looked in the photos. None of the wires is under any pulling force. So I’ll leave it as is. If it get loose I’ll try this way to save the space inside the cover. Thank you for the suggestion.

I did but I didn’t want to spend that much for the covinience for my wife not having to launch the smart dash cam app in her iPhone and put the phone up on the holder.
